Wake’s grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins all came down to celebrate his first birthday! I love that we got to do a portrait session with all of them while they were here. It’s not often that 4 generations of family is together all in one spot so this was so special. All the bright colors with the greenery right in downtown Dunedin looked amazing. Happy 1st birthday Wake!!!!
This little cutie pie is 6 months already! Kelly had gotten these beautiful flower crowns from Petals Presents and Parties and as parent life sometimes goes, when Mireia had woken up from her nap she wasn’t feeling her smily happy baby self. But, she powered through and we got some super cut smiles and the most adorable grumpy faces. Sometimes you just gotta roll with life as it is in that moment, tears or giggles it’s all beautiful! My favorite photo of them all is Pedro and Mireia:-) Happy 6 months sweet girl!
Lauren and Alex had a romantic evening wedding from the view of the top of Tampa (the 46th floor of the Tampa Club:-). Lauren’s dress was this really pretty light shade of champagne/blush and she wore super comfy navy Tieks that coordinated perfectly with the girls navy dresses and the little hint of blue thistles in the flowers. After she was ready, the best man came in and gave her a card and gift from Alex. He had gotten her crystal earrings and a necklace to finish off her look. She knew Alex would have a super sweet message written so tissues were on hand. To honor her mom, who was there with her in spirit, she had a little charm on her bouquet said “Mom, you’re with me today, and every day" as well as a memory table and special seat with flowers at the ceremony. Her dad was so excited to see his daughter completely ready to walk down the aisle. Lauren had given him the most thoughtful gifts, cufflinks with his initials and a tie clip with her parents anniversary engraved on it.
Alex loves Game of Thrones and had a little shout out to them with the pin he wore on his lapel. I love the gray suit with navy shirt and charcoal tie and then his best man and ring bearer were wearing the opposite colors. Alex was super involved in helping plan he and Lauren’s wedding and was all about the details! We setup a little moment with them holding hands around a doorframe making sure he didn’t get a peek at Lauren in her dress before she walked down the aisle.
After the wedding Alex told he was SO nervous right before the ceremony started and until his beautiful bride walked down the aisle to meet him. After they were the official Mr. & Mrs. Negron we used all the cool spots at the Tampa Club for photos of them and the bridal party. Probably my favorite with them were in the wine room because I know they wanted a romantic vibe and the shadowy room with all the dark wood is the perfect spot!
Gold, pink, and hints of burgundy and wood was the decor for the reception. Their cake with those gorgeous sugary flowers is one of my favorites ever! For a sign in they had little wooden hearts for everyone to sign and kind of the signature piece to the gift table was a custom carved cutting/cheese board with their names and date. So many beautiful moments and so much fun had by all. During the bouquet toss, the girl who caught it tried to toss it back but she didn’t get away with that lol!!!! Congrats Lauren and Alex!!!!
We love sharing fun and unique ideas and these are some great ones for your groom and groomsmen gifts, as well as some tips for making your guys happy and thanking them for standing by your side:
1. Getting them something they can wear or drink lol seems to be some of the most loved gifts. Custom cufflinks, socks, a money clip, or of course a flask and their favorite liquor are always a favorite.
2. Be sure to have them open them while you guys are getting ready and have your photographer capture that moment when they open them.
3. Meaningful is always the best! It doesn’t need to be expensive or anything crazy but these are your best friends in life there for you in thick or thin so thank them with something cool!
I love gifts that can be incorporated into the wedding details. This wooden engraved watch from Groomsday.com you can engrave a custom message to your groom or each of the guys and it comes in this custom wooden box as well. Socks have been a long time very popular gift, especially fun socks. Plus, that’s one less things they guys have to remember. These socks also have a custom message and you can choose different ones to go along with your guys style.
These custom gifts from Groovy Guy Gifts are some of the coolest that we've seen. The cufflinks/money clip, and flask also come in a personalized wooden box and the pocket knife has a custom wood panel on it as well. The very last photo is one I hadn't seen before. They are custom whiskey rocks that you put in the freezer and then in your whiskey (or wine if I was using them:-) and it keeps it cool but doesn't water it down. Stop on by www.groovyguygifts.com to see all their cool custom guy ideas!!!
What are you getting your best gal pals for being by your side throughout the wedding planning process to when you walk down the aisle? We've got some really awesome ideas for you! A few months ago we did a post on unique groomsmen gifts, so now it's your turn ladies! Here’s some tips to think about:
1. It doesn’t have to be expensive, meaningful is the most important! Some of the most special gifts we have seen haven’t been expensive ones but things that a personalized and especially with a hand written card thanking your girls for being by your side.
2. If there is some specific detail that you want your girls to wear give them that as your gift to them. Jewelry, a clutch, shoes, and one of our favorites is a bridal survival kit
3. Give it to your girls while you’re getting ready and make sure that you have your wedding photographer capture that moment of fun and excitement.

As a Marry Me Tampa Bay preferred photographer, we were honored they asked us to be a part of this romantic, garden-inspired dusty blue styled shoot! What is a styled shoot you might wonder? The purpose is to get creative and transform a space into something totally unique that couples may never see or be able to envision. So, literally it’s a full wedding setup with models and a group of wedding professionals that team up to make it happen. We’ve done many styled shoots over the years and this is among my favorite because of the style, models, and the team we got to work with. Before doing all the pretty detail shots, I got to work with the sweetest couple, Melissa and Daniel, who are actually engaged and getting married next April! I love this venue because not only is it right in International Plaza, but there are SO many different an amazing spots for photos. In the lobby they have really unique lounge furniture, the hallways have huge windows with beautiful light and there’s several different tiled stairwells all right there in one place.
The venue, Renaissance Tampa, has a traditional ballroom, but they chose to highlight the hotel’s unique and vibrant event space with the help of wedding planner Katy Turchich of Coastal Coordinating. I’m quoting the feature you can see on Marry Me Tampa Bay because I think they described the inspiration and design much better than I could:
“The wedding planner and designer chose a muted color palette of dusty blue, grey, blush, peach, and silver as to not to compete with the boldness of the reception space. To add to the romanticism, decor rental company and florist Gabro Event Services added French country chairs, custom velvet linens, greenery and peach filled florals, and a show-stopping draped sweetheart table.
“My inspiration was to bring a soft, upscale garden look inside and showcase how alternative wedding spaces can be transformed into a romantic feel. I loved how it really softened the room,” Katy beamed.”
Silver accents on the three-tiered wedding cake with marble swirls from Alessi Bakeries perfectly complemented the decor, while small, but impactful details such as the geometric acrylic place cards added a luxurious touch.
The couple dazzled in their attire from Nikki’s Glitz and Glam Bridal Boutique; the bride’s lace Calla Blanche wedding dress featured a plunging neckline and sheer side panels adding a hint of allure. Hair and makeup artists Destiny & Light Hair and Makeup Group chose a smokey eye and half updo to showcase the bride’s flowing long curls.
Bringing the romantic elements to the Renaissance’s outdoor courtyard, Gabro Event Services created a flowing draped arch providing a statement piece for the ceremony backdrop.
“The outside area is the perfect setting for the romantic ceremony. There is a natural breeze that makes you feel like you are at a destination location,” Katy gushed. “The blowing of the draping helped to create the romantic look.
Tampa Bay wedding videographer Resurgent Fire Films captured the flowy breeze and gorgeous Florida day and you can watch the video HERE. “
This team of wedding pros below worked so hard to bring this style to life and I think it turned out better than anyone could have imagined!

Brittany and Carl’s wedding day was full of so much love, beautiful moments, and AMAZINGLY gorgeous details. The girls got ready at Le Meridien in their cute PJs and Brittany had these fluffy white bridal slippers that were to die for! Her Galahi Lahav gown, her sister (MOH), and her mom’s dress could not have looked better together. She wore her mom’s diamond necklace and had her grandmother’s bible for her something borrowed and something old. One of my favorite details was her invitation by Doyle Paper Company. They gave her her full stationery suite mounted in a floating frame. We always love photographing the stationery and it’s not always easy to lay it all out pretty during getting ready but this was so genius and then the couple has it to hang on their wall. Once Brittany was all ready we had her dad come in to see her and extra special cards for her parents to read.
Carl wore these fantastic Star Wars cufflings and had a custom made suit from Suit Supply that even had their wedding date sewn in. After they were ready it was off to University of Tampa for some groomsmen shenanigans before the ceremony!
One by one all the girls walked down the aisle ending with the 2 little flower girls who made sure they were throwing petals just as they practiced. Everyone waited in anticipation for the doors to open and Brittany to walk down the aisle arm in arm with her dad. I always love when churches have balcony’s so then one of us can be upstairs and one of us downstairs. After they were officially Mr. & Mrs. Petrilli, we went back to use the iconic steps of Le Meridien for the family and bridal party photos, and then headed over to Armature Works. The read their vows to each other on the dock right on the water and we literally could have shot there with them for an hour lol!
The Gathering space at Armature Works was so gorgeous! Rounds and long tables with gold, greenery and florals on high geometrics. The napkins had a “P” embroidered on each one, and the menu was clear with greenery underneath. Brittany’s grandmother had just celebrated her 80th birthday and they surprised her by singing happy birthday and a special dance with her husband. I’m just going to let you look at the reception it really doesn’t need many words! The New Royals Band definitely rocked out this party, and there was a flaming doughnut station (just sayin). It was SO MUCH FUN and clearly Brittany and Carl are loved by all. Thank you guys for having us it was such an honor to be there!! xoxox

We got SO lucky for this session! Right before sunset it was about to storm but the water and sky was this cool shade of aqua blue! Jonathan told me Elizabeth is basically a mermaid because they have so much mermaid decor in their house (that’s a girl after my own heart!). Elizabeth and Jonathan live in Louisiana but Elizabeth is from Winter Haven originally. They have a love for the sea and fell in love with the Florida Aquarium for their wedding. 11.23.19 we are so excited to be right there by their side!!!
Today is graduation day for Delaynie! She’s worked so hard and graduates with a BA in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I did her senior portraits on some the the beautiful and iconic spots on USF’s campus. It’s also a little extra special because Delaynie is my cousin:-) All of my family members live quite a ways away so it has been so nice having family here in Tampa. Congratulations Delaynie, and go Bulls!!!
This sweet little lady turned 1!! Before her cake smash we got some pretty outdoor photos with everyone including grandparents and great grandma. One of my personal favs is the 4 generations of ladies on Rachel’s mom’s side:-) Rachel is the master of outfits and costumes so you’ll see how fabulous Lorelei’s birthday outfit topped off with a sparkly hat was! Lorelei wasn’t totally down with the cake smashing idea so her big brother Ezra stepped in to show her how it’s done. My other favorite one is the sweet little kiss he gave his sister, uh so much cuteness!
I’ve gotten to photograph this little guy since before he was out of the womb! Sapna wanted a super casual session at their home with of them all together playing and having fun. Krish turned 1 and loves books, playing with his big brothers and their sweet pup Guinness. Before Krish was born we did Sapna’s maternity session in Hyde park and went back to do one in the same spot with Krish and the same dress, love how that turned out!
Bethany and Brad are getting married next May at the Florida Aquarium! Bethany is from Florida and Brad is from Wisconsin so they wanted to do really cool Florida location to set the tone for their save the dates and I love this little hidden gem right on the water close to downtown Tampa. It had rained earlier in the day which settled the water and the sky to be a similar calm tone with a hint of pink, it was so pretty and fun!
Metromin’s annual Bridge Builders event is one I look forward to every single year and it never disappoints! Hosted at the Hilton Downtown Tampa catered by Inside the Box, set and production IS Staging. hundreds came out to support and give to bring hope to those who need it most in Tampa Bay. Metromin unveiled the Metro Brigaide, which is a team of 30+ staff from Metro and AmeriCorps. Metromin saw a need for people who have been living in tent camps who are afraid to go and get basic things they need and services because they don’t want to lose the stuff they do have, so the Brigaide goes out and brings food, love, and services directly to these people! I was also my last official time hearing from Mayor (Reverend), Bob Buckhorn. I’ve gotten to hear him speak and photograph him many times over the last 8 years and I always love hearing his enthusiasm and love of Tampa Bay and making it a better place for our kids. The kids from Metromin presented both Bob and the Debartalo family with a beautiful tile art piece in honor of their support.
Lyani and Darren’s family is now a party of 5 with their brand new handsome little edition, Noble. I have to tell you, I’ve gotten to be there for so many of their family’s important moments and my love runs deep for them. They have a lush garden that was perfect for their family pics and then we took little Mr. Noble in his nursery for some special ones with his mom and dad. Make sure you scroll down to see how awesome his nursery is……
Lyani is a very talented interior designer. So Noble’s nursery is cool and calming with all the different blue patterns but also fun and bright with the yellow dresser and the complimenting yellow in the chair, and that lion!!
We photographed Carrie & Mike’s wedding in 2012 and nothing makes me happier than getting to photograph their little ones! Shiloh’s big bother Noah was so excited to be in some photos with his new baby sister. Shiloh didn’t love her little crown but she looks so cute in it and is definitely a princess!!!
Marisa and Ricky had their wedding at the beautiful Bakers Ranch. Marisa is a trainer for Southeastern Guide Dogs which is an amazing organization that trains dogs for the visually impaired and service dogs for veterans. So, of course she and Ricky had 2 of their sweet pups in the wedding helping the ring bearers:-) I love the simple wooden arch with draping and florals on either side, perfect for hanging her gorgeous gown.
Their color palette of gray, lavender, succulents, and greenery was perfect for their ceremony under the ancient oaks. While the girls were getting ready Marisa told me initially she wasn’t going to wear a veil, but had decided to surprise her mom by wearing one that she would see as she walked down the aisle. I love knowing those little things to be on the lookout for. I had to get her mom’s reaction when she saw her arm in arm with her dad, what a beautiful moment that ended up being one of my favorites.
The weather was absolutely perfect for photos in front of the outdoor chapel in with the sun going down behind the trees. The reception was was soft and romantic with lots of draping and candlelight. The cake had different textures and just a hint of gold and lavender and there was a special fishing themed groom’s cake for Ricky! They lowered the chandelier as Marisa and Ricky did their first dance and since there is a balcony you can get these amazing overhead shots of the entire scene from above. Both dad’s gave a toast to the new couple. Ricky’s dad had some marriage advice for his son and made sure to give him a pen and paper to write it down with. While everyone was dancing we snuck them out for some night photos with all the twinkle lights on the love lock bridge and Marisa on the stairwell and then it was sparklers for the grand exit. Such a perfect day for Mr. & Mrs. Blanco!!! Thank you for including us it was amazing! xoxoxo
Downtown Tampa’s got swag in so many different places. Sometimes I just like to meet somewhere I know is cool but just see what we see while walking around. Jessica and John were up for whatever and right down by the Rialto Theater there’s blue doors, beautiful light and we even found a cat mural:-)
Jen & Daniel chose one of the most beautiful locations in Tampa Bay to get married. Harborside Chapel is was design with all the most important things for weddings in mind. I had gotten to do Jen and Daniel’s engagement session and figured out we had done Daniel’s sister, Rachel’s wedding 8 years ago! It was so nice see her and Chris and their cute little guy who was one of the ring bearers! While the girls were getting ready Jen wanted to practice her vows but couldn’t read them without tearing up so one of her bridesmaids read them for her. She wore a lace gown with fabulous blue Badgely Mischka’s and a ring on her ankle that Dan’s mom had giver his dad while she was pregnant with him. The girls wore burgandy dresses and Jen had given them each different cobalt blue jewelry and earrings that matched her shoes and Daniel’s suit. Daniel gave Jen a beautiful diamond cross necklace, he told me she is hard to buy gifts for and he hoped she liked it. I think he nailed it.
My favorite detail are the blue tractor cufflinks that Daniel wore. His mom gave them to him as a gift because they had a blue tractor growing up and since his dad had passed, it was something that he could wear to have his dad right along with him. (it’s on our instagram so you can see it there @carriewildesphotography) Jen had gotten all the guys socks as their gifts, including special ones for her dad’s walk down the aisle. So much thoughtfulness and sweet gifts for both of their moms as well. Right before the ceremony Jen and Daniel held hands around the corner in the bridal suite without seeing each other!
The chapel was decorated with a simple wooden cross and greenery with candles and lanters. They wrote awesome vows to each other and exited with bubbles as the new Mr. & Mrs Miles!
After everyone headed off to the reception we used all the pretty spots around the chapel and then went over to the dock at Safety Harbor for their first dance at sunset! Congratulations Jen and Daniel, it was so special to be a part of!!! xoxoxo
Sometimes you just need a great image of who you are so people can see you! Lifestyle headshots are more natural in look and make you look and feel great about who you are because you should! This session was at our studio with Dr. Carlos Garcia for his website and social Tampa Counseling and Wellness. I love his mission: to provide “Compassionate Counseling to Help You Find Peace and Happiness”.
Landon’s shirt says it all, the perfect little gentleman:-) I love his little hat and that vintage chair. It’s actually a family heirloom as it was Lauren’s grandmother’s and we moved it outside in the pretty light of Lauren and Zach’s front yard. 6 months old, 2 little teeth, loves to play and has so much love in his life already!
