Creating the Perfect Vision | Sara & Javaris' Maternity Session

One of the best parts of what I do is getting to walk through so many seasons of life with the amazing couples I photograph. I’ve known Sara and Javaris since their engagement session and wedding day, and it’s been such a joy to stay connected over the years. Being able to capture this next chapter as they prepare to become parents was truly so special!

When we started planning their maternity session, we talked through different ideas and ultimately landed on a clean, intimate look that felt very “them.” We decided to photograph this session in our lifestyle studio, which turned out to be the perfect choice—especially with how hot it gets in Florida in July! The simple, neutral backdrop allowed their connection and the anticipation of baby girl’s arrival to take center stage.

Sara and Javaris brought such warmth and love to this shoot. From the tiny pink baby shoes to the sweet way they looked at each other, every moment felt full of joy and anticipation. We kept the color palette classic with black outfits, which really let their expressions and Sara’s beautiful bump shine.

What I especially love is how both the color and black-and-white photos turned out—each version gives a different emotional depth, and they’re equally stunning. The quiet, powerful moments in black and white, mixed with the soft pops of pink and natural tones in color, truly captured their story.

Sara and Javaris, thank you for trusting me again to be part of your story. Watching you go from engaged to soon-to-be mom and dad has been such a gift. I can’t wait to meet your baby girl!
