Venue Spotlight Sheraton Sand Key Destination Wedding | Miranda & Hunter
If you're dreaming of a laid-back, beautiful destination wedding with your toes in the sand and a breathtaking Gulf Coast sunset as your backdrop, the Sheraton Sand Key in Clearwater Beach might just be the perfect place. Miranda and Hunter traveled all the way from Illinois to tie the knot here, and their beachside celebration was the perfect blend of elegant simplicity and coastal charm.
One of our favorite parts of this venue? The top floor suites at the Sheraton, which offer a panoramic view of the Gulf. It’s the perfect place for getting ready wedding photos, with natural light and a view that’s hard to beat. Miranda looked absolutely radiant as she got ready in a room that overlooked the very spot she’d say “I do”. One of the sweetest moments of the day was Miranda’s first look with her dad in her room—his emotional reaction said it all and made for such a touching start to the celebration. Hunter and the guys had the same view in their room as they got ready and popped the champagne.
Their ceremony was set right on the sand, with the soothing sound of waves in the background. Miranda chose a soft, romantic color palette of light pink, sage green, and neutral tones, which added just the right touch of color against the natural beauty of the beach.

One of my favorite moments to capture at any wedding—especially destination weddings—is a group photo of all the guests together right after the ceremony. It’s something I always try to include because, from my own wedding, the one thing I think about most is that most likely, never again will those same exact people all be in the same place at the same time. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of the people who mean the most to you, and having that moment to look back on is truly priceless.

Their reception was held on the lawn overlooking the beach, a perfect spot for a relaxed, intimate celebration with their closest friends and family. String lights, ocean breezes, and genuine joy made it a night to remember.

With sunset being later, we snuck away with Miranda and Hunter for some portraits at golden hour, and the sunset views on Clearwater Beach were nothing short of beautiful. It’s moments like those—just the two of them, soaking in the beauty of the day—that make Florida destination weddings so special.

Whether you're local or planning your wedding from out of state like Miranda and Hunter, Sheraton Sand Key is a hidden gem for Clearwater Beach destination weddings. With easy beach access, stunning views, and options for both ceremony and reception spaces, it offers everything you need for a perfect Gulf Coast wedding.
