Cristina + Carlos | Colorful Ybor City Wedding
Cristina and Carlos’ Ybor City wedding was filled with color, joy, and so many meaningful personal touches. They wanted to have a first look and amazing portraits indoors, so they got ready at Hotel Haya, one of our favorite spots in Ybor. After their first look, Carlos surprised Cristina which a gorgeous tennis bracelet! We explored the lobby for portraits, including my personal favorite location—the Library! The clean lines, textures, and unique vibe made it the perfect backdrop for modern and romantic wedding photos. The decor and the vibe of the hotel was perfection. Even the furniture matched the colors:-)
Their wedding style was bold and vibrant with hot pink, fuchsia, red, and hints of yellow woven throughout the day. It perfectly reflected the energy of their Ybor City celebration. The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, a historic Catholic church in Ybor City. Cristina’s godfather, who is a deacon, officiated the ceremony, making it extra special since she has known him her whole life.
After saying "I do," Cristina and Carlos had the sweetest bubble exit on the church steps before heading to their reception at the Columbia Museum. Guests were greeted with colorful décor, delicious sangria, and incredible food—everything you’d expect from a Ybor City wedding! By each Place setting each person’s favor was a little card that said “Thanks a lotto for celebrating with us” with a lotto ticket inside! That’s a favor that everyone will definitely take with them! Their cake was the perfect finishing touch to a lively and beautiful celebration.
One of the fun details Cristina and Carlos came up with was how they incorporated their table photos. Before each table was released to the buffet, Cristina and Carlos stopped for a quick photo with everyone at that table. It was such a creative way to make sure they had a photo with each guest, while also keeping the reception flow fun and interactive!
The perks of a daytime wedding
Cristina and Carlos also opted for a mid-day reception, which came with some amazing bonuses:
Gorgeous natural light for photos throughout the day.
A relaxed timeline without a late-night ending.
Guests could continue the celebration into the evening with more Ybor City fun.
Every detail of Cristina and Carlos’ wedding reflected their personalities—fun, colorful, and centered around family and community. We loved being part of such a heartfelt and vibrant day! 💍 Planning your own Ybor City wedding? We’d love to help capture every colorful, joy-filled moment—send us a message to chat about your day!
