Metromin’s annual Bridge Builders event is one I look forward to every single year and it never disappoints! Hosted at the Hilton Downtown Tampa catered by Inside the Box, set and production IS Staging. hundreds came out to support and give to bring hope to those who need it most in Tampa Bay. Metromin unveiled the Metro Brigaide, which is a team of 30+ staff from Metro and AmeriCorps. Metromin saw a need for people who have been living in tent camps who are afraid to go and get basic things they need and services because they don’t want to lose the stuff they do have, so the Brigaide goes out and brings food, love, and services directly to these people! I was also my last official time hearing from Mayor (Reverend), Bob Buckhorn. I’ve gotten to hear him speak and photograph him many times over the last 8 years and I always love hearing his enthusiasm and love of Tampa Bay and making it a better place for our kids. The kids from Metromin presented both Bob and the Debartalo family with a beautiful tile art piece in honor of their support.
Lyani and Darren’s family is now a party of 5 with their brand new handsome little edition, Noble. I have to tell you, I’ve gotten to be there for so many of their family’s important moments and my love runs deep for them. They have a lush garden that was perfect for their family pics and then we took little Mr. Noble in his nursery for some special ones with his mom and dad. Make sure you scroll down to see how awesome his nursery is……
Lyani is a very talented interior designer. So Noble’s nursery is cool and calming with all the different blue patterns but also fun and bright with the yellow dresser and the complimenting yellow in the chair, and that lion!!
We photographed Carrie & Mike’s wedding in 2012 and nothing makes me happier than getting to photograph their little ones! Shiloh’s big bother Noah was so excited to be in some photos with his new baby sister. Shiloh didn’t love her little crown but she looks so cute in it and is definitely a princess!!!
Marisa and Ricky had their wedding at the beautiful Bakers Ranch. Marisa is a trainer for Southeastern Guide Dogs which is an amazing organization that trains dogs for the visually impaired and service dogs for veterans. So, of course she and Ricky had 2 of their sweet pups in the wedding helping the ring bearers:-) I love the simple wooden arch with draping and florals on either side, perfect for hanging her gorgeous gown.
Their color palette of gray, lavender, succulents, and greenery was perfect for their ceremony under the ancient oaks. While the girls were getting ready Marisa told me initially she wasn’t going to wear a veil, but had decided to surprise her mom by wearing one that she would see as she walked down the aisle. I love knowing those little things to be on the lookout for. I had to get her mom’s reaction when she saw her arm in arm with her dad, what a beautiful moment that ended up being one of my favorites.
The weather was absolutely perfect for photos in front of the outdoor chapel in with the sun going down behind the trees. The reception was was soft and romantic with lots of draping and candlelight. The cake had different textures and just a hint of gold and lavender and there was a special fishing themed groom’s cake for Ricky! They lowered the chandelier as Marisa and Ricky did their first dance and since there is a balcony you can get these amazing overhead shots of the entire scene from above. Both dad’s gave a toast to the new couple. Ricky’s dad had some marriage advice for his son and made sure to give him a pen and paper to write it down with. While everyone was dancing we snuck them out for some night photos with all the twinkle lights on the love lock bridge and Marisa on the stairwell and then it was sparklers for the grand exit. Such a perfect day for Mr. & Mrs. Blanco!!! Thank you for including us it was amazing! xoxoxo
Downtown Tampa’s got swag in so many different places. Sometimes I just like to meet somewhere I know is cool but just see what we see while walking around. Jessica and John were up for whatever and right down by the Rialto Theater there’s blue doors, beautiful light and we even found a cat mural:-)
What are you getting your best gal pals for being by your side throughout the wedding planning process to when you walk down the aisle? We've got some really awesome ideas for you! A few months ago we did a post on unique groomsmen gifts, so now it's your turn ladies! First is the custom Wine Tumbler from Bridebop.com. Simple, fun, and what girl doesn’t want to keep her wine nice and chill? 2nd is this Wrap and Write Gift Box. It has a beautiful wrap in 13 different colors with a custom engraved initialed wooden box and matching notebook. 2nd is a Custom Heart Charm Necklace that is fancy enough to go with your bridesmaid dresses but could also double with jeans and a fun tee! Last but not least is a Leather Clutch that comes in brown, navy, or pink, and personalized with their name or initials. Thanks to our friends over at Bridesmaid Gifts Boutique for these awesome ideas! Here’s some tips to think about:
1. It doesn’t have to be expensive, meaningful is the most important! Some of the most special gifts we have seen haven’t been expensive ones but things that a personalized and especially with a hand written card thanking your girls for being by your side.
2. If there is some specific detail that you want your girls to wear give them that as your gift to them. Jewelry, a clutch, shoes, and one of our favorites is a bridal survival kit
3. Give it to your girls while you’re getting ready and make sure that you have your wedding photographer capture that moment of fun and excitement.

Jen & Daniel chose one of the most beautiful locations in Tampa Bay to get married. Harborside Chapel is was design with all the most important things for weddings in mind. I had gotten to do Jen and Daniel’s engagement session and figured out we had done Daniel’s sister, Rachel’s wedding 8 years ago! It was so nice see her and Chris and their cute little guy who was one of the ring bearers! While the girls were getting ready Jen wanted to practice her vows but couldn’t read them without tearing up so one of her bridesmaids read them for her. She wore a lace gown with fabulous blue Badgely Mischka’s and a ring on her ankle that Dan’s mom had giver his dad while she was pregnant with him. The girls wore burgandy dresses and Jen had given them each different cobalt blue jewelry and earrings that matched her shoes and Daniel’s suit. Daniel gave Jen a beautiful diamond cross necklace, he told me she is hard to buy gifts for and he hoped she liked it. I think he nailed it.
My favorite detail are the blue tractor cufflinks that Daniel wore. His mom gave them to him as a gift because they had a blue tractor growing up and since his dad had passed, it was something that he could wear to have his dad right along with him. (it’s on our instagram so you can see it there @carriewildesphotography) Jen had gotten all the guys socks as their gifts, including special ones for her dad’s walk down the aisle. So much thoughtfulness and sweet gifts for both of their moms as well. Right before the ceremony Jen and Daniel held hands around the corner in the bridal suite without seeing each other!
The chapel was decorated with a simple wooden cross and greenery with candles and lanters. They wrote awesome vows to each other and exited with bubbles as the new Mr. & Mrs Miles!
After everyone headed off to the reception we used all the pretty spots around the chapel and then went over to the dock at Safety Harbor for their first dance at sunset! Congratulations Jen and Daniel, it was so special to be a part of!!! xoxoxo
Sometimes you just need a great image of who you are so people can see you! Lifestyle headshots are more natural in look and make you look and feel great about who you are because you should! This session was at our studio with Dr. Carlos Garcia for his website and social Tampa Counseling and Wellness. I love his mission: to provide “Compassionate Counseling to Help You Find Peace and Happiness”.
Landon’s shirt says it all, the perfect little gentleman:-) I love his little hat and that vintage chair. It’s actually a family heirloom as it was Lauren’s grandmother’s and we moved it outside in the pretty light of Lauren and Zach’s front yard. 6 months old, 2 little teeth, loves to play and has so much love in his life already!
I was looking back and actually got to start working with Aljerome in 2014 and he was working on building his vision which is Collar and Combs. Definitely check out www.collarandcombs.com, I love what they do, “Collar and Combs is a refined, but trend-conscious, personal style service for men. The company provides personalized style fashion and style recommendations based on each client’s taste and interests.” These are a few of my favs from the shoots I’ve gotten to work with him on. He always likes to be serious so I always try and make him smile and laugh:-) It’s so cool to hear my client’s vision and then see it become a reality. Awesome job Aljerome!
Ivanna and CJ are getting married at Stonebridge this coming November and it’s such a gorgeous property they decided to do their engagement session there as well! I mean, literally so many beautiful spots, we’ve photographed lots of weddings and events over the years there and there’s endless prettiness there. As you can see we had a blast just hanging out and having fun. Their outfit choices and colors were totally on point and looked amazing!! So fun working with you guys!!
Our plan was to do an anniversary session with Erin and Matt right around their 2nd wedding anniversary this past November. All that crazy rain we had last year ended up making it a happy new year session, which was totally worth the wait! Erin incorporated the forest green color from the wedding and the Dr. Who Tardis that made an appearance at the wedding too:-) I love how fun and totally them this session was, plus those sparkly shoes!! So great seeing you guys again!!!
This first picture is my favorite of these 3! I think it embodies what happiness and love actually looks like:-) Mohan is SO adorable and just turned 6 months old. They wanted a pretty outdoor location and I love the deep and light blues look and those cute baby jeans!! I had the honor of photographing Lisa and Tushar’s wedding just over 3 years ago and there’s nothing I love more than seeing them so happy as a party of 3!!
We got to work with these beautiful ladies and gorgeous gowns from The White Closet Bridal at Armature Works for some real bridal style. Esther was in 2 different styles from Stella York one flowy design with pockets and a full lace gown with crystal jewelry and hair piece. Ashley wore 2 different Justin Alexander looks that were sleek and elegant and a little Marilyn Monroe:-) The wind made for some fabulous veil shots and even some behind the scenes of how we got them that I couldn’t resist sharing:-) I love this shoot because the goal was some fun and carefree looks of real brides in these styles. So fun working with you all!!!

I could not be happier for these 2! 5 years ago I photographed Samantha and Ryan’s wedding at the Italian Club in Ybor and the moved to California but were back to celebrate with friends and family. They have a little girl on way due in April. We did a few portraits before the party and the shower theme was pink and purple with beautiful florals, amazing cupcakes, and a chocolate bar favor that said “sweet baby girl Taylor”. Samantha’s mom had the perfect gift, baby girl’s first pair of red bottom booties. Congratulations again you guys it was so fun to see you all!
Michelle and Ryan are getting married 2.1.20 at Covington Farm! When we were were talking engagement sesh locations she mentioned her parents are building a home in Tierra Verde. The views are stunning and bright coastal look was perfect. It’s not quite finished but how special to have these sweet moments there. Ryan is a Hillsborough County Fire Fighter so we incorporated his gear in some as well. So fun working with you guys!!
Probably my favorite thing people say when they see their photos is “that’s so us”! Really that’s why I love photography, it’s capturing the essence and personality of something you can’t necessarily “see” and making it visible. Anyway, I say that because that’s what Nicole and Rob said about their session:-) Rob’s kids, Avery, and Maddox joined them for some really pretty family photos as well. They are getting married at The Orlo this June and since it’s such a stunning location it was perfect for their engagement session as well!
Ritu and Ananth had a beautiful weekend of events with friends and family from near and far celebrating their engagement. We started the weekend with them at the Tampa Garden Club before their guests arrived for portraits on bayshore. Their pink and ivory colors with the greenery and florals looked amazing!
Ananth’s mom, Lakshmi, is an event planner and created this garden style decor with gold, ivory, and greenery. Their guests sipped mimosas and mingled in the garden with Ritu and Ananth greeting them. Inside there was a fabulous croissant station created by A Piece of Cake, and literally any kind of espresso and cappuccino by Cafe Ala Carte. Each of the tables were even named different, herbs, flowers and plants. Ananth’s parents and sister toasted to how excited and proud they are of this amazing couple, there was cake and then after brunch a classical sitar performance. Congratulations again Ritu and Ananth!! We’ll have more tomorrow of their session at the Hindu Temple.
We’re so lucky here in Florida to have so much outdoor beauty. When we were planning location with Alex and Lauren, they hadn’t been to Philippe Park before but fell in love with the tree canopy when I showed them some of the other sessions we’ve done there. The 2 photos are the top are my personal favorites because it honestly wouldn’t matter what the location it’s all about the authentic moments and who they are as a couple. Lauren had found some super cute signs from Hobby Lobby she might use for the wedding and added an extra special little detail to their session. I can’t wait until we get to photograph their wedding 4.13.19!!!
Jenna and Kevin live in Maryland but where down here to celebrate the holidays in Florida and I got to see them for their engagement session. They wanted their session and their save the dates to be in perfect Tampa style and there’s no better place for that the UT. We just walked around all the pretty spots and chatted and had so much fun. They will be Mr. & Mrs. Madden and if you know me you know I love a good wedding hashtag and theirs is #maddenlyinlove coming this December!!
