Christine and Rob live in Texas but are getting married here in Florida next May! I love when couples have a location for their engagement session that is sentimental and this location is an extra special one. Rob’s family lives in the Sarasota area and they have this really cool beach cabana where his family has always come to relax and enjoy the gorgeous beach. There was no one there but us and the turquoise blue water.

Carissa + Anthony’s wedding was a full day of laughter and joy at Tampa’s amazing Nova 535 venue. The pair chose a Thursday to have their wedding (which we love!). They started the day at Sirata Beach Resort with Carissa receiving the royal treatment from A Cherished Bride beauty services. Anthony and his groomsmen put on their wedding finest in a nearby room. Their cheeky best man surprised Anthony when we went down for the ‘first look’ by appearing in one of Carissa’s dresses. See what we mean by ‘day full of laughter’?

One of our favorite wedding professional networking groups is Association of Bridal Consultants and the June meeting at Opal Sands Resort did not disappoint! Even though weddings/events are back with a vengeance (a good one!:-) I feel like we as local professionals don’t see each other often enough, so when we do, we do it up right!

They say that ‘2nd time is a charm’. Well for Rebecca + Max ‘3rd time is a charm’ was the winner! After rescheduling their wedding two times in New York because of pandemic restrictions in 2020 and then again in 2021, the couple decided to move their wedding to Tampa where they are currently living. Armature Works became an obvious choice for their April 2022 wedding because it had a similar vibe to their original New York venue.

We had a wonderful time with Tampa locals Nichole +Everett who essentially held a destination wedding for their Midwestern families aboard the Yacht StarShip.

The couple got ready with their bridal party at the Tampa Marriott Water Street which always makes for good pre-ceremony portraits. The light that comes streaming in from the massive windows plus the light colored walls makes it seem like we are shooting inside a giant soft box light.

It’s a reality here in Florida. Sometimes it’s going to rain on a wedding day. It can be a bummer but as Logan+Kevin proved, if you have an amazing sense of humor and can’t wait to be married to the person next to you, nothing can blemish the magic of your day. Especially if you get married at the lovely Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. The furnishings are so elegant that it feels like a palace. We did schedule after wedding portrait session where Logan+Kevin dressed up in their wedding clothes since we couldn’t get those by the water photos which we can’t wait to share in a future post.

The beauty of being based in the greater Tampa/Clearwater area is how many destination weddings we have here. Madison+Dalton brought all of their family from Illinois to have a gorgeous beach wedding at the Hilton Clearwater Beach.

We had a blast shooting Courtney + Tyler’s downtown Tampa wedding. Under the crafted eye of expert planner Confetti Events, these two and all their family and friends danced the night away at their Armature Works ceremony and reception.

Such a lovely session with Alex and Dalan in downtown Tampa! They live in California and were here getting some wedding planning things checked off their list, one of them was hanging out with us! Notice how amazing Alex’s flowy, flowery dress paired with Dalan’s dark navy pants and white shirt looks with all these iconic spots. Here’s just a few of my favorites from their favs! We are so looking forward to their wedding this October!!

Ballast point is a hidden little gem right at the very end of Bayshore Blvd and where we did Darci and Russell’s engagement session. At dusk, there’s just a few minutes where the light on the city of Tampa in the distance and light where we were was even and it just looks spectacular with the calm water and pink tones in the sky. Gotta be patient but it’s worth it! I had so much fun hanging out with these 2, we even got a dolphin fin in the background!!

No one seems to know that that big white metal thing on Bayshore is! I always call it the big metal slinky so I finally googled it and actually it is called The Wave, an art piece created by Mary Ann Unger and installed there in 1989. It was created to frame different parts of the city as you walk around and look through it, as well as the rays of light and shadows it creates, pretty cool right? Per my search, Bayshore is also the world;s longest continuous sidewalk at 4.5 miles long, well done Tampa lol.

Liz and Jory will be tying the knot in a beautiful garden next March. They live out by the beach, so Sand Key was the perfect spot for their engagement session. Their handsome little guy, Quinn, even joined us for some as well and he even helped me hold the off camera flash for sunset. I absolutely love these sweet moments with the 2, and the 3 of them. Couples who have kids ask me all the time if they should include their kids in their engagement session and I actually love when they do! I think it’s such a great way to help them be a part of the journey and celebration and you get some gorgeous photos as a family as well!

We had a blast photographing Tara+Nick’s cruise ship wedding in Tampa Bay Harbor aboard the Yacht Starship. The weather was perfect, crystal clear and the wind minimal. The Yacht Starship weddings are so great for the couple because their packages are all inclusive so all you have to do is show up and have a great party.

We had an unbelievable great time photographing Kate + Matt’s wedding at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and The Orlo. Kate is from Tampa while Matt is from San Francisco and the pair currently reside there. They decided to incorporate their geographical roots as the main theme in their wedding, a ‘Bay to Bay’ sort of vibe. And of course planning a wedding from across the country is tough so the pair was so glad to have help from Confetti Events to pull off a wonderful event.

Ashton and Chris are getting married in just a few short weeks at Sacred Heart and the Centre Club!!! Ashton is from Tampa, and Chris and all his family will be coming down from Ohio for the wedding. The perfect spot that totally vibes with the wedding and is so “Tampa” is the lovely water front views at Curtis Hixon Park. You all know it’s one of our favs!! Ashton’s pop of pink shoes with that gorgeous ivory dress with Chris’ neutral outfit looked amazing with all the greenery and waterfront views. 5.14.22 they will become Mr. and Mrs. Koenig and we can’t wait!!

The Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater, FL is an amazing venue to have a wedding! Jackie + Yuriy and their guests never had to leave the property to enjoy all the festivities and an amazing view to boot!

George + Nathan’s chic March wedding at Armature Works in Downtown Tampa, FL was a dream to be a part of! Working with George + Nathan and their event planner at Piper Marie Events made for great photos. Everything these two incorporated into their wedding spoke of elegance and refinement. We especially loved the pops of red on the bottoms of their kingly shoes and the fantastic red get away car! George +Nathan’s tuxedos and bridal party black tie couture were stunning!

We had a wonderful time celebrating with Kelly, Nick and their family/friends during their gorgeous wedding at St Brendan Catholic Church and Carlouel Yacht Club in Clearwater, FL. So many details that were carefully integrated into their decor really stood out to us and made for an extra good time for their guests.

All you really need for a great engagement session is a super fun couple and a spot with gorgeous light and that’s what we had for Madison and Chris’ session. I love new places, and sometimes not even preparing, but just showing up and seeing what I see. Madison had this great little spot she sent me the coordinates to and it had awesome trees and tall whispy grasses that was just so pretty!! They are getting married at Legacy Lane Farm next October and their save the dates will totally set the tone as this is a different location but totally goes with the gorgeous outdoor vibe of Legacy Lane.
