I lived in New Orleans for a little while but didn't get to experience Mardi Gras so I'm always wishing I'm there on Fat Tuesday:-) Part of what I love about my profession is coming up with creative ideas to continue improving and making them happen! So this was a little bit of inspiration that turned into a really cool shoot and it will even be featured soon in Tampa Bay Wedding Styles online magazine which is also pretty exciting. We actually did the session on fat Tuesday and Ybor is as close as I could get to the French Quarter feel. Feathers, bead covered florals and mask, beautiful wedding gown and fabulous models, Bobby and Cienne at the Roosevelt set the scene. I just wanted a simple, rough background and an alleyway I could light purple so we used a video light and off camera flash to create a dramatic effect. Here's a little behind the scenes and also some of my favs.
I lived in New Orleans for a short 6 months but met my husband there and absolutely love the people and culture. There was no king cake for me but we did bring a little bit of the Big Easy to Ybor with a Mardi Gras inspired magazine cover shoot. I couldn't resist posting just one but there will be more to come.....
Fashion is one of our main inspirations and we especially love bridal fashion! We had the pleasure of meeting and working with the ladies from Solutions Bridal Designer House on their WHITE fashion show at NOVA535. They house some of my favorite couture designers including Kenneth Poole, Rivini, and Badgley Mischka. It was a night of beautiful gowns, fabulous food, and amazing people!

Usually the wonderful stylists from Collective Creations and making our clients hair and makeup gorgeous for pictures, this time I got to work with them:-) I love the subtle hint of each of their different styles and personalities that they included with fun shoes!
Creative, over the top, and fun, why not? That’s what we were going for to really spark our creative minds with this Valentine’s Day themed session with David and Brandy. We are SOOOO excited that is is also featured today on the One Stylish Bride Blog!! The gown and beautiful red sash were created by Anglo Couture. Events in Bloom created a very unique floral effect with a red heard shaped umbrella enveloped by flowers and also a heard shaped cascade bouquet. Hair and makeup, old Hollywood style by Collective Creations. Red galoshes and a sweet picnic with candy, heart shaped donuts, and champagne were the perfect touches.
We had the privilege of working with the Anglo Couture team on creating the look for their brand new 2011 line! I love the different little details that makes each of these gowns unique and gorgeous. We wanted an elegant, but urban feel so a simple red wall was the perfect backdrop. Anglo Couture has also expanded their line with accessories, bridesmaid, and flower girl dresses. Check them online for the entire collection!

Here's a few different looks that Anglo Couture came up with by adding a headband, feathers, and different silk flowers. Hair and makeup by the fabulous Collective Creations.
I love creativity and art of all different types, especially capturing other people's talent I recently finished a shoot for a series of profiles on creative hair and makeup by Collective Creations. I asked Holly how they came up with it and here's what she said.....

These gorgeous gowns look amazing on the simple textures and colors we used. Tara and Jennifer, were amazing to work with and Lena G and Collective Creations created their look of Hollywood glamour. Ever wonder who and what is behind the design of those beautiful wedding gowns you see? I have the privilege of working with a local designer, Vicky, creator of Anglo Couture and wanted to share a little her world and what it takes to design her gorgeous gowns. Our work will also be featured on their website and we covered Anglo Couture's fashion show last week so lots more to come!!!
What are your biggest influences?
"I simply love what I do. I get infuenced by everything. Life itself infuences me...but mostly different women's characters. I think that we should be able to represent who we are or want to be, through our image. So i just try to capture that through my designs."
How does a gown go from drawing to reality?
"First I look at the sketch and see how I can make a pattern that is actually wearable and has an imperative fit. I draft the pattern and cut it out of muslin, I test the fit and make changes as needed. After I have accomplished the perfect fit I finalize the pattern and cut it from the actual material. Sometimes there is up to 100 pieces in a single pattern. The correct cutting is crucial in assuring the perfect fit. Putting together all the pieces must be done with simple perfection to achive the absolute fit. And that's how it all happens!!!"
How do you come up with the names for each dress?
"I just look at the dress and think, what would the name of the woman that will wear it be?"
What types of materials do you use?
"1oo% the finest quality silk dutchess satin, chiffon and organza....I love to accent with french laces and flowers."
Anglo Couture is coming out with their first line of couture wedding gowns and we had the privilige of capturing the very first sneak peeks of them!
