Amber & Michael

I had so much fun with Amber, Mike and their perfectly posing puppy, Ladybug, or "Bug" as they call her:-) I just love their engagement story, Mike get's extra bonus points for this one and I'll share it straight from Amber:
"My fiancé planned a surprise trip to North Carolina for my 25th birthday. He planned it months in advance and then gave me a PowerPoint that told me everything I needed to know for our vacation. He tailored the trip perfectly me to include white water rafting, amusement parks, and shopping. On our final day of vacation he took me to the Biltmore in Asheville. Once we arrived the weather started looking bad so we decided to take a tour of the house and grab some lunch. By the time we had finished up the weather was perfect. Since it had rained everyone left the property and we had the entire field in front of the house to ourselves. Since no one was around we decided to take a “selfie” in front of the house. After we took the shot he immediately got down on one knee and proposed. It was a perfect moment that he had captured by a photographer that was at the other end of the field. After giving us a few moments alone the photographer took us all around the estate for an engagement session. He did a great job :)"
We can't wait until their wedding 10.17.15!!!

Mariana & David

I love how Mariana tells the story of how she and David met so I'll let you read it straight from her:-)  Their wedding is going to be a romantic, whimsical, garden style so a botanic garden for the engagement session goes along perfectly!

"My mother always said to me, "Mariana, you're never going to meet your future husband hanging out at a bar. If you want to meet quality people, you have to go where quality people gather." She meant church, or volunteering, or something like that. But luckily for me, quality people need a place to wind down too!
Our paths had crossed before, and I had even had a few conversations with his roommate AJ, but that night we finally got to know each other better over a game of pool, during which we kicked our opponents' butts! At the end of the evening he asked if he could take me out to dinner some time. I thought that was sooo sweet, and way more original than, "So can I get your number?" So, I volunteered my number, but I was so flustered I accidentally mixed up the digits between my cell and office phone numbers without even realizing it!
After agonizing for what felt like eternity, I got an email from him at work! It starts out saying something like, "I hope this doesn't seem creepy, but I got your work email from AJ. I thought I got you number from you, but I must have written it down wrong..." I couldn't believe it! Most guys would have assumed I gave them the wrong number on purpose, but that never crossed his mind. He was so sure it must have been a mistake!
For our first date, he took me to see a baseball game with a group of kids that he volunteered with. How's that for quality people?

{Jessica & Arik @ A La Carte Event Pavilion}

Jessica and Arik actually said their I do's about a year and a half ago because Arik is a captain in the army and was being deployed to Afghanistan. He's home and they wanted to have a big celebrate with their friends and family.  Arik is originally from Indiana, and Jessica is from Georgia. Jessica world emerald green shoes, a sash, and matching earrings and jewelry. Arik was in his dress blues. Before the party got started we got some beautiful shots of them at A La Carte by the fountain and the dock out back with the sunset through the clouds.  The reception decor was white draping with teal, green, white, and hints of peacock feathers.  With a band and a DJ the dance floor was a fun one!  There was cake, tons of happiness, and sparklers!  Congrats Jessica & Arik!!!!  xoxoxo

Anna & Ryan

Anna & Ryan are getting married at Wishing Well Barn and there are just so many beautiful places for pictures we did their engagement session there as well.  The early morning light is so pretty with the light coming through the spanish moss on the oak trees and and there are rows and rows of blueberry bushes!  Love these 2, so sweet!!

{Tiffany & Phil @The Regent}

Tiffany and Phil's wedding on 6.28.14 ended our very busy June and I have to say every single aspect of their wedding is why I absolutely LOVE photographing weddings.  Tiffany and Phil met in middle school, riding the same bus together.  They became friends and in high school Tiffany was a cheerleader and Phil was a basketball player. In 11th grad Phil asked her out and they have been inseparable ever since.  Tiffany had several letters to read, the first was from her dad, paired with a bottle of Crystal in a beautiful box. Next was a sweet letter written by her brother Roger, and then Phil wrote her 2 letters.  The second letter was a really funny one like they would write and pass in school:-)  The girls wore blush gathered gowns with pink and gold jewelry and the boys wore gray suits with blush ties.  I absolutely love the elegant style of everything from the florals to the cake, it was stunning!  Their ceremony was inside draped in white and florals lining the aisle.  Philip's grandfather officiated the ceremony and pronounced them man and wife!  We had SO much fun with the bridal party, and in fact Cody who was one of the groomsmen, is Tiffany's cousin.  We'll be photographing he and his fiancee, Gianna's wedding in November:-) The reception was draped and decorated with high and low center pieces with golden lines and lace overlays. Each place setting had a little jar of honey that said "Meant to Bee".  The cake done was the most intricate and beautiful one I think I've ever seen. The hand made lace intricacy was amazing. I have to tell you a funny story during the cake cutting because Sylense may have been the only one who saw it.  There was a round smaller cake next to Tiffany and Phil's cake.  While they were getting ready to cut their cake, Lexi the adorable flower girl stealthly ran up to the table and licked from bottom to the the edge of the smaller cake.  We could not stop laughing about it and she's a very smart little girl:-)  There was amazing toasts, delicious food, and the most fun dance party ending with Tiffany singing to the crowd.  And off they were. Congrats Tiffany and Phil!!!!! xoxoxo

{Courtney & Joe @The Oaks at Windsong}

Courtney and Joe have been together for a little over two years.  They met each other in high school but it wasn't until college that they started dating:-)  Joe proposed to Courtney in the Keys at the top a lighthouse overlooking the water.  Courtney and her bridesmaids all had adorable monogrammed robes! They had champagne colored bridesmaid dresses and all wore gold shoes.  Courtney wore a beautiful Victorian lace gown that looked stunning on her She wore her school colors proudly with an FSU garter!  The guys wore cream-colored dress shirts with awesome leather suspenders, the perfect touch to this country Victorian wedding!  Joe wore a tan vest to match.  Their venue, The Oaks at Windsong, is a beautiful property sprawled across acres and acres of grassy fields with tall oak trees.  Courtney's parents kept joking with her that they were going to decorate her whole wedding with balloons, so they had to get just one big one which made for some really fun bridal part pics:-)

The ceremony was in front of a round reflection pond and the guests were seated on the other side looking across the water where Courtney and Joe stood with their bridal party and pastor.  Joe and Courtney tied their lives together with the cord of three strands. This cord represents God, Joe, and Courtney, all braided together.  The reception style was "Victorian Country".  A canopy of stringed was above all the tables.  Beautiful centerpieces with alternating tall and short florals were all around the dance floor.  Each table had combinations of lace, burlap, lanterns, antique keys, and wooden table numbers.  Courtney even went to antique stores and thrift stores before the wedding to get all sorts of different saucers to have the cake served on, which went perfectly with the different patterned china. The buffet was sprawling across the length of the reception.  Guests dined on fish tacos, a mashed potato bar, pulled chicken and pork with pasta. Along with the cake there were cake pops, chocolate chip cookies, fruit tarts, mini cheesecakes, spoons of crème brûlée, and little shot glasses with chocolate mousse. We were able to steal the bride and groom away for some nighttime photos in front of the Joe's family's antique car.  There was lots of dancing and even a dueling FSU/ UF fight song. They departed through a tunnel of all their guests waving ribbons. Congrats Courtney & Joe!!!  xoxoxo

{Jamie & Brian @Sheraton Riverwalk}

Jamie and her girls got ready at the Sheraton before heading to the church. Jamie gave each of her bridesmaids matching necklace and earrings, plus a super cute Kate Spade wallet to use for the day.  Jamie put "I DO" gems on the bottom of her shoes to give them a little more sparkle! Her 5 month old little girl Jaida was there to help mommy and the girls get ready too.

The ceremony took place downtown at Sacred heart Catholic church.  I love doing weddings there because the building is so beautiful and the lighting is always amazing inside.  After the ceremony, the wedding party and I took the party bus around town to take advantage of all the cool urban spots.

The reception was a blast! Both sets of parents and the wedding party all did fun dances during their entrances and Brian and his mom danced to "thriller" in the middle of their mother son dance.  Later that night the entire wedding party surprised the guests by putting on glow gloves and dancing around.  It was an amazing time had by all and we loved capturing it!  Congrats Jamie and Brian!! xoxoxo

{Abbie & Chuck @Sheraton Sand Key}

Abbie and Chuck are from Michigan and even though the beach was literally flooded and their ceremony had to be inside, their wedding was beautiful and amazing!   Abbie and her sisters made all of her details!  They made the bouquets, boutineres, a card box, fans and the center pieces for the tables.  Abbie and Chuck chose to get married at the Sheraton because that is the first place they went on vacation together!  Chuck has two children and they did a sand ceremony to include them in their ceremony as well.  The decor was aqua with some gray and burlap accents.  Luckily the rain went away in time for some beautiful bridal party and sunset photos on the beach!

{Robin & Armen @ Davis Island Garden Club}

Robin and Armin had a very beautiful outdoor wedding at the Davis Island Garden Club!  Robin and her bridesmaids started off their day at the Westin Harbour Island, which is just across the river. We could actually see the venue space from Robin's room!  Robin gave all of her girls a little necklace with the first letter of on it as a small thank you for being a part of her big day! Then we went outside and took some shots with the city in the background and were quickly on our way to get Robin hitched! Armen wore his father's wedding band and watch.  He gave each of his groomsmen a grill see it a beautiful case.   The ceremony was filled with many tears and smiles as Robin and Armen said their vows.  After that it was time for some wedding party photos and then PARTYYY!  Their outdoor reception had a very rustic/vineyard style with lots of gorgeous florals.  Robin had custom pillows made, their seating chart hung in a picture frame from a tree, she had a smokes bar, scotch bar, and a sweets table including s'mores! The food was absolutely delicious and the menus were printed on little bags with bread in them to go with the salad.  The band C'nergy kept the night very fun and entertaining!  Congrats Robin and Armen!!! xoxoxo

{Allison & Gus @Hyatt Clearwater Beach}

Allison and Gus were a very sweet couple and had a simple but very elegant destination wedding at the Hyatt Clearwater Beach. The moment I arrived Allison had her dress hanging for me, shoes, jewelry and bouquet all ready to photograph.  The ceremony took place on the beautiful 16th floor terrace of the Hyatt.  Since they are from North Carolina, the views and scene were really important to them, and it was the perfect day with beautiful views of the gulf and the bay.  Allison's maid of honor said that she knew Gus was the one for her since the first day she met him, which was at a wine tasting in Napa Valley:-)  The colors were light pinks with with hints of teal and starfish.  I love her bouquet, the florals were just gorgeous!  Congrats Allison and Gus!!! xoxoxo

Day 2 of 14 for 14: Elegant - Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue

Style- Elegant: A Modern Trousseau Italian guipure lace fit-to-flare gown with a bateau neckline and cap sleeves accessorized with a charcoal grey ribbon and birdcage veil.

Tip: Old, New, Borrowed & Blue
Guest Blogger: Ashley West from The White Magnolia
Hair & Makeup by Aquali Bridal

The first line in a traditional rhyme is something most brides are familiar with: “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence in her shoe”. This old folk rhyme says that if a bride has all of the above on her wedding day, she will have good luck through her marriage! Our favorite something old has always been a vintage piece of jewelry from a grandmother, and a great something blue has always traditionally been the garter.  Some brides do their something borrowed as a veil, sash, or other accessory they may want. Most commonly brides use the wedding dress as their something new- that’s where we come in!  At The White Magnolia we are so looking forward to helping many brides find their something new through 2014!

{Kristen + Eddie @A La Carte Event Pavilion}

Kristen and Eddie got hitched at A La Carte Event Pavilion and it was quite the partaaay! The girls had so much fun getting ready, drinking champagne and saying quotes from their favorite movies like it was a secret language.  Laughter filled every moment of Kristen and Eddie's day.  Even while they were standing at the alter kristen was so excited she couldn't help but make funny gestures!  But, with all the laughter came many tears of joy from Kristen, her girls and many of the guests. Watching a couple so happy and in love was truly moving.  We had so much fun taking wedding party pictures after the ceremony!  The reception was an elegant black and white with lots of uplighting and draping.  Kristen gave her grandfather the first piece of wedding cake and she wore her grandmother's garter.  DJ Speedy really knows how to turn it up.  Everyone was on the dance floor before dinner was even over! Then to top it all off they brought out glow sticks and the flower girl showed off her awesome moves.  Kristen and Eddie said they have the most amazing family and friends and they wanted their wedding to be the happiest most fun party and it absolutely was!  Congrats!!!! xoxoxox

{Sarah & Daniel @T Pepin Hospitality Center}

Sarah looked stunning in her beautiful lace gown and blush pink heels.  Sarah and Danny met at a coed soccer tournament they were both playing in.  Shortly after, their first date was at a Miami Hurricane football game.  One of my favorite things they did was as people walked out to the ceremony there was a basket with an instruction guide for all of there guests.  Genius!  It had things like when you can eat your salad, that there is pool and shuffleboard, and that instead of a guestbook they had a sign in canvas from their engagement session.  That was my little addition:-)  I love this idea because it's not something I've seen before and it was everything guests would ask!  They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony and then guests enjoyed cocktails and all kinds of deliciousness from Puff N Stuff.  Pepin has so many cool little spots for photos I love it!  Dancing, lots of fun moments, and their guests each left with little rum cakes in mason jars.  Congrats Sarah and Danny it was amazing!  xoxoxo

Jennifer & Faizal

Ybor is definitely Jennifer and Fazial's stomping ground. They even knew quite a few people just walking around.  Ella and Gia their Yorkie and Chihuahua joined us as well.   They have been together for 6.5 years and met at the Ybor Saturday Market.  They were trying to re-create their first date and Faizal got up on the stage like he was going to sing Karaoke and called Jennifer up and proposed instead!
