Meg + Steve | Harborside Chapel & The Fenway Hotel | Safety Harbor, FL

Some weddings have it all β€” the elegance, the emotion, the energy, and those spontaneous moments you could never plan. Meg and Steve's wedding at Harborside Chapel in Safety Harbor was exactly that kind of day. From a dreamy first look bathed in golden light to crowd surfing with their guests at the end of the night, this one had my heart from start to finish. As a Tampa wedding photographer, days like this are exactly why I do what I do.

Getting Ready: The Detail That Stopped Everyone

Before the day even truly began, Meg set the tone in the most meaningful way. Her mother had custom-made her getting ready pajamas and robe from her own wedding dress β€” and if that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about this family, I don't know what does. It was one of those details that's both incredibly thoughtful and completely adorable, and it's exactly the kind of thing I live for as a photographer. The guys cleaned up perfectly in classic black tuxedos, and Meg's bridesmaids were stunning in black gowns β€” the whole wedding party was giving timeless elegance from the very first moment.

Getting Ready: The Guys

Steve set the tone for the morning in the best way β€” showing up for his guys with thoughtful gifts for each of his groomsmen and both dads before they even made it to the altar. It was one of those quiet, meaningful moments that speaks volumes about the kind of man he is. And once they were all suited up in their classic black tuxedos? Absolutely sharp. There's something timeless about a wedding party in all black β€” no fuss, no overthinking, just clean and polished and perfectly put together.

The First Look at Harborside Chapel | Safety Harbor, FL

Meg and Steve chose to do a first look before the ceremony, and I'm so glad they did. The light outside Harborside Chapel was gorgeous β€” soft, golden, and perfectly dreamy. Watching Steve turn around and see Meg for the first time is one of those moments I never get tired of. There's something so intimate about it, just the two of them before the world joins in to celebrate. And because they took that time together, they were completely relaxed and present for every moment that followed.

Thinking about a first look at Harborside Chapel? It's one of my favorite Safety Harbor wedding venues for exactly this reason β€” the natural light and architecture are unmatched.

The Ceremony

The ceremony inside Harborside Chapel was classic and beautiful β€” exactly what you'd expect from a couple who put intention into every detail. And they ended it in the best possible way: a perfectly executed dip that they had actually practiced (yes, they're that couple, and I'm here for it). The whole room erupted, and honestly, same.

Trolley Ride + Sunset Portraits at The Fenway Hotel

After the ceremony, the newlyweds hopped on a trolley to head over to The Fenway Hotel while their guests made their way to cocktail hour. With all the portraits already done before the ceremony, I was able to pull Meg and Steve away for just a few minutes during the transition β€” and the sunset delivered. Those golden hour portraits outside The Fenway Hotel in Safety Harbor are the kind of images that remind me why I do this work. If you're considering The Fenway Hotel as a wedding venue, the light during that golden hour window is absolutely stunning.

The Tented Reception at The Fenway Hotel | Safety Harbor Wedding

The tented wedding reception at The Fenway was absolutely stunning. White linens, lush greenery and white florals, gold chargers, a black and white dance floor, and market lights overhead β€” it was romantic and polished and felt like a scene from a movie. The classic black and white wedding aesthetic Meg and Steve chose translated beautifully into every single detail of the reception space. There was even a groom's cake featuring an FSU golf bag, surrounded by an assortment of mini desserts because why have one when you can have everything?

But here's the thing about Meg and Steve's reception β€” it wasn't just pretty. It was alive. Their live band had the dance floor packed from the very first song and it never let up. Light-up cowboy hats, glow sticks, and yes β€” at some point both the bride and groom were crowd surfing. I don't make the rules, I just photograph them.

The Exit

They closed out the night the only way that made sense: a sparkler tunnel exit that was as bright and joyful as the entire day had been. There are weddings you document, and then there are weddings you feel. This was absolutely the latter.

Meg and Steve, thank you for trusting me to capture your day. The love between you two is so real, so easy, and so fun to be around β€” and your guests felt every bit of it. Wishing you a lifetime of dance floors and adventures together. πŸ“·
