Fete Des Fleurs Styled Shoot Featured in ISS Magazine

Linda Marie Weddings and Events in Bloom came up with the vision for the beautiful European inspired Fete Des Fleur styled shoot that we got to photograph.  Linda submitted it to Inspire Smart Success Magazine and they just featured it in their latest issue!  It's a magazine dedicated to helping wedding professionals be inspired and take their businesses to new heights so it's pretty awesome to be recognized by them!  Dixie and Abita even made the spread:-)  Styled shoots are a LOT of work and we had a lot of great people involved in this one so thank you all for your creativity and talent!

{Abbie & Chuck @Sheraton Sand Key}

Abbie and Chuck are from Michigan and even though the beach was literally flooded and their ceremony had to be inside, their wedding was beautiful and amazing!   Abbie and her sisters made all of her details!  They made the bouquets, boutineres, a card box, fans and the center pieces for the tables.  Abbie and Chuck chose to get married at the Sheraton because that is the first place they went on vacation together!  Chuck has two children and they did a sand ceremony to include them in their ceremony as well.  The decor was aqua with some gray and burlap accents.  Luckily the rain went away in time for some beautiful bridal party and sunset photos on the beach!

{Allison & Eric @The Lange Farm}

The theme of Allison and Eric's wedding was "Southern Elegance".  It was a mixture of vintage, rustic, and classic elements.  Allie wore a beautiful gathered gown with a beaded belt.  The girls wore pink knee length chiffon dresses with white and light pink bouquets.  Eric got the guys mason jar mugs with their names engraved on them and argyle socksJ Allie and her father arrived at the ceremony site in front of a beautiful big oak tree in an antique Bentley.  The Garden House was decorated with burlap, lace, mason jars, lanterns as table centerpieces, a typewriter, vintage suitcases and antique cameras as props on tables to capture the timeless feeling of their day.  To add a little “southern” to that elegance it was catered by Hungry Harry’s which is delicious BBQ!  Allie and Eric’s wedding was full of so many beautiful and fun moments ending with a bubble exit.  Congrats Allie and Eric!!! xoxox

{Robin & Armen @ Davis Island Garden Club}

Robin and Armin had a very beautiful outdoor wedding at the Davis Island Garden Club!  Robin and her bridesmaids started off their day at the Westin Harbour Island, which is just across the river. We could actually see the venue space from Robin's room!  Robin gave all of her girls a little necklace with the first letter of on it as a small thank you for being a part of her big day! Then we went outside and took some shots with the city in the background and were quickly on our way to get Robin hitched! Armen wore his father's wedding band and watch.  He gave each of his groomsmen a grill see it a beautiful case.   The ceremony was filled with many tears and smiles as Robin and Armen said their vows.  After that it was time for some wedding party photos and then PARTYYY!  Their outdoor reception had a very rustic/vineyard style with lots of gorgeous florals.  Robin had custom pillows made, their seating chart hung in a picture frame from a tree, she had a smokes bar, scotch bar, and a sweets table including s'mores! The food was absolutely delicious and the menus were printed on little bags with bread in them to go with the salad.  The band C'nergy kept the night very fun and entertaining!  Congrats Robin and Armen!!! xoxoxo

{Shanel & Dwayne @A La Carte Event Pavilion}

Shanel and Dwayne united not just themselves, but their two beautiful daughters with their wedding!  The girls had pretty flower girl dresses and even mini veils to wear.  Dwyane is very funny and sweet,  there was a lot of laughter throughout the day and some funny moments and emotional ones as well.  Shanel had the traditional something old; her grandmother's ring, something borrowed; her bridesmaids' earrings, something blue; her garter, and her something new was her dress!  All of their friends and family were so excited to celebrate this momentus day! Everything was accented in turquoise!  Flowers, linens, the boys tuxes, and their ice sculpture where blue martinis were served from! The cake sat on top of a glass table with blue and creme flowers underneath. Everyone danced, ate, drank, and had an amazing time!! Congrats Shanel and Dwayne!!!! xoxoxo

{Allison & Gus @Hyatt Clearwater Beach}

Allison and Gus were a very sweet couple and had a simple but very elegant destination wedding at the Hyatt Clearwater Beach. The moment I arrived Allison had her dress hanging for me, shoes, jewelry and bouquet all ready to photograph.  The ceremony took place on the beautiful 16th floor terrace of the Hyatt.  Since they are from North Carolina, the views and scene were really important to them, and it was the perfect day with beautiful views of the gulf and the bay.  Allison's maid of honor said that she knew Gus was the one for her since the first day she met him, which was at a wine tasting in Napa Valley:-)  The colors were light pinks with with hints of teal and starfish.  I love her bouquet, the florals were just gorgeous!  Congrats Allison and Gus!!! xoxoxo

{Andrea & Brian @Edson Mansion - Phillippi Estate, Sarasota}

Andrea and and Brian had the prettiest vintage, southern, pink and gray wedding!  I love the girls different shades of pink dresses and the flower girls wore lace dresses with flower crowns.  Andrea had a broach bouquet that included a broach from her grandmother, mother and mother in law.  Andrea wore super high and fabulous Betsy Johnson shoes.  Brian made all of the wood signs, there was one that said Mr & Mrs, Thanks Y'all and the funniest one was the one the ring bearer had it said "Last Chance to Run".   Her grandfather officiated the ceremony and her mom walked her down the aisle to meet Brian.  Tons of pretty pink florals decorated their ceremony in the round.  The reception was inside the mansion with pink linens, mercury glass candelabras and a really awesome white couch at their sweetheart table.  They had sweet tea vodka lemonade as their signature drink and a cigar roller.  Andrea changed into a short fun party dress and it was literally the most perfect and beautiful evening for them to move the party outside.  After all the fun the headed to Napa for their honeymoon!!  Congrats Andrea and Brian!! xoxoxo

Now days everyone wants the high resolution files.  That’s what the magazines and everyone tells you right?  Well reality is most people probably do nothing with them!  After the wedding you want to get your life going and who has time to try and try and figure out where to make prints or create a book online?  When you are 70 and your grandkids want to see your wedding pictures you aren’t going to sit them down in front of Facebook, you are going to do one of 2 things:  1. Pull out your wedding album and relive your beautiful wedding memories or 2. Say that you wish you had a wedding album to show them but you don’t and have nothing to show for it!  Which do you want to be? 

Your wedding album should tell a story and the albums we offer are ones that consumers can not even come close to getting something like we custom design for them on their own.  When you are looking at photographers really look at the products they offer in terms of quality and custom creation.  I guarantee no one will ever say “I wish I hadn’t done an album”.

Here at The White Magnolia we find that the wedding dress is usually one of the first things a bride checks off her list. Typically once you have a date and venue chosen, it is the perfect time to shop for your gown! We suggest ordering your wedding gown anywhere from 8 months to a year in advance to avoid any stress, but rush orders can be accommodated on a shorter time frame. We work with brides anywhere from three months to a year and a half in advance! Each gown is custom made to order and can take about 4 to 5 months to come in, and you want to give yourself a few months for alterations ideally. As with most things when it comes to wedding planning, the earlier the better. Nothing feels more exciting than deciding on your wedding day look- you can actually envision yourself walking down the aisle on your big day!

Planning the budget for your wedding day is no doubt one of the most stressful parts, but the most important thing is to prioritize. Decide which vendors and details are most important to you, and put the bulk of your budget into those key things. Most experts suggest putting 10-20 percent of your overall wedding budget towards your gown depending on how it ranks on your list of importance! No matter where you get your dress from, make sure you are working with someone you trust. Who you choose to work with in purchasing your dress is just as important as other wedding day vendors- this person is taking your measurements, placing the order for your dress (color, sizing, and customizations are all important to note!) and helping you alter and accessorize to look perfect for your big day. At The White Magnolia we offer gowns ranging $1400-$5500 and are confident there is a gown for every girl, no matter what her budget is.

Pick a style that fits your personality and your venue: Every wedding has a style. You will find it easier to put your decor and ideas together if you chose a style from the beginning and stick with it.

Do your homework: Don’t go into a decor appointment clueless. There are so many resources out there like wedding blogs, magazines, and of course Pinterest!  At least pull photos of things you like and don’t like.  Create a Pinterest board and pull all the things together that you like so it's visual!

Know your budget range: It is very difficult to help a bride that has no idea what she can spend or in what areas she wants to spend it. 15% of your overall budget for the wedding is a good starting point for flowers.

Day 10 of 14 for 14: Sexy - Timing and Seasons for Getting Married

Tip - Timing and Seasons for Getting Married

In Florida we actually have 2 wedding seasons.  March – June and end of September – beginning of December is when the weather is usually the nicest.  If you are planning your wedding in these months plan early because they are the busiest! The earlier you plan, the more likely the wedding professionals you want will be available.  For an outdoor ceremony, we recommend starting the ceremony 1.5 hours at minimum before sunset.   Usually outdoor ceremonies start 10 minutes late and are about 15-20 minutes long.  This allows for the cocktail hour to be that hour before sunset, which is the best lighting for pictures.  Especially if it is a wedding on the beach or waterfront, that 10 minutes before and 10 minutes after sunset is that beautiful glowing light we love:-)  In the fall, the first Saturday in November is daylight savings so after that the sun sets about 5:30pm.  In the spring, the first Saturday in March is daylight savings so after that, the sun sets about 7:30pm.  We always develop a timeline with our couples to make sure we are maximizing their time and getting the best lighting for your wedding!  If your ceremony is earlier or sunset is later like 8:30 ish, we plan it so that we can go our during the reception and still get the beautiful lighting!

Show and tell.  On the day of your hair trial, bring anything you think will help your stylist understand the looks you love or the style of your wedding. Have a friend take a photo of you in your dress at a fitting.  Bring pictures of brides, celebrities, models—anyone whose look inspires you.

Shampoo…not! Unless you are going to be wearing a loose blowout, make sure you wash your hair the night before the ceremony; slippery-clean locks have trouble holding a curl or staying put in an updo. A good dry shampoo can be a great purchase for those with greasy hair.

Go big or go home: Pageant hair is big for a reason—hair appears smaller in photography and when viewed from afar (i.e., from a back pew). Another reason to try for size: Your style will likely collapse a bit in height and width as the day wears on.

Extend yourself.  Don’t shy away from having hair extensions for your wedding day; it’s way less of a drama than it may sound. And no one needs to know—it can be our secret! Extensions are great if you want a little more length or fullness, or if you or your artist is worried about your hair holding a particular style all through your wedding day. Even if your own hair falls, the extensions won’t.

Accessorize.  There are so many great hair accessories available now to add a gorgeous accent to your wedding hair. It will depend on the look you’re going for. For a more classical look, you might want to wear a Swarovski crystal brooch. Jeweled barettes can be great. Some of our favorites at the moment are bird-cage veils, feathers, and flowers, which go beautifully with more flowing, playful gowns.

Be honest. If there is something you want to change about your hair, try to contact your stylist and let them know prior to the wedding day. This will help the stylist in planning so that everything runs smoothly the day of your wedding!
