Megan + Bill's Sheraton Sand Key Wedding | Clearwater Beach
We love being based in a beautiful enough location to host destination weddings regularly! Bill and Megan traveled to Clearwater, Florida from the mid-west.
Bill, the groom actually planned Megan's entire dream wedding! She told him her vision and he literally made it all happen. How amazing is that?! Seriously, so great to see a groom taking such an active roll it the planning- it really made the day so personal and unique to them! They are just the sweetest and most fun couple ever!
Wedding prep began at the Sheraton Sand Key - we arrived around 1pm (three hours before the ceremony) to get all the pretty details and Megan getting into her dress. And Bill into his suit!
Clearwater beach offers some of the best views on the west coast of Florida for an oceanfront ceremony! December weddings in Florida are wonderful- we know it’s chilly everywhere else, but it’s usually mild and breezy here. And that’s certainly the case for Megan and Bill. The ceremony began at 4pm- which is a great time of day in our winter months! We still have plenty of time to catch the gorgeous golden hour + sunset photos!
Ceremony Decor
Rectangular Birchwood arch draped in fabric, with asymmetrical floral spray accents in white roses + orchids and mixed greenery textures. Small aisle bouquets at every other row and a must-have welcome sign at the entrance! Double sided wedding programs pulled double duty as fans (highly recommend!).
Megan and Bill embraced their beachy vibe in their decor- but elevated it with pretty navy blue and green, and touches of gold. It was an elegant choice that also felt beautifully laid back! We love how everything looked in the ballroom at the Sheraton Sand Key!
One super funny thing Megan did is warm up a Smirnoff Ice and hid it with her garter before Bill had to take it off so that he found it and had to pound it. Nothing worse than pounding a warm Smirnoff Ice! It was a definite laugh out loud party of the reception - keep scrolling to see that hilarious moment!
We mentioned it before, but we’ll say it again- Megan and Bill really were so much fun to work with! They have an infectious love that was a joy to be around and capture. We can’t wait to see where forever takes you!
