Kayla & Aaron | A Surprise Sand Key Proposal - Clearwater, Florida

Aaron’s proposal to Kayla unfolded in the sweetest, most heartfelt way on one of my favorite Florida beaches.

Aaron reached out to me ahead of their trip, sharing that he and Kayla would be visiting her brother in Dunedin. While the visit itself was innocent enough, Aaron had a secret tucked into his pocket and a plan forming in his heart. He wanted to completely surprise Kayla by getting down on one knee and asking her to be his forever.

When couples ask for a private yet beautiful location for a Clearwater proposal, Sand Key Park is always at the top of my list. It’s close to Clearwater, has easy parking, and because it’s a park rather than a resort beach, there are no hotels or homes drawing extra foot traffic. Just dunes, soft sand, and that peaceful Florida shoreline that feels like it pauses time.

We planned the setup so it felt effortless. I was already “chilling” on the beach, sitting in a chair like any other beachgoer. Aaron and Kayla took a walk along the shoreline and passed right in front of me. In one perfectly timed moment, Aaron stopped, turned toward Kayla, and dropped to one knee.

It worked flawlessly.

Kayla was completely caught off guard in the best possible way. Her reaction was pure joy, shock, and happiness all wrapped into one beautiful moment. The kind you can’t stage, only witness. Aaron had chosen a stunning custom-made ring featuring a round center stone accented with sapphires, and it suited her perfectly. Thoughtful, elegant, and timeless, just like their connection.

After the big “yes,” we spent time capturing their newly engaged glow with the Gulf behind them, the breeze off the water, and that just-engaged energy that makes everything feel brighter. This Clearwater proposal was intimate, emotional, and full of heart, exactly the way it should be.
