Wiedemann Hill Mansion

This week I'll be featuring several really unique venues we've been working with in the Cincinnati/Northern KY area.  The beautifully restored Wiedemann Hill Mansion sits on top of a hill in Newport, KY overlooking the city.  The story behind it is just as interesting as it is beautiful.   It was built in 1894 by Charles Wiedemann, who was heir to the George Wiedemann Brewery.   It remained in the family until 1951 when the Dioceses of Covington aquired it for the Bishop and used some of the 12 original acres for a Catholic High School.  In 1981 Dr. Tom Powell, a dentist and entertainer purchased the property and used it for his production studio and advertising business.  In 2005 the current owners Donna and Roger Weddle began an 18 month restoration.  I got to spend some time getting to know Donna and I would definitely call them restoration artists.  You can read the full history here.  They also have been able to find memorabilia from the Wiedemann Brewery, the bathroom is really interesting!  The stained glass, wood detail, and breathtaking views and sunsets over the city definitely makes this a treasure of a property.  The owners live on the 3rd floor and the first 2 floors are used for weddings, rehearsals, and corporate events.  Definitely a photographer's dream:-)  Erika was our fabulous and beautiful model!
