Greek Orthodox Tampa Wedding | Irene + Ron

When a couple has been together for years, their friends and family are often just as excited for their wedding day as they are! And that was definitely true for Irene and Ron. This sweet couple dated for seven years prior to their wedding day, and they chose to officially become a married pair on their anniversary, October 1.

Before they could officially walk down the aisle and celebrate, Irene and Ron first had to contend with Hurricane Ian. The category four storm rolled through Tampa just days prior to their wedding day, which would normally make anyone’s stress levels skyrocket. Instead, Irene, a corporate event planner with plenty of savvy skills, took everything in stride and chose to believe that everything would work out—and it did.

Irene and Ron each spent their wedding mornings getting ready with their respective bridesmaids and groomsmen. Two special guests joined their sides for their wedding day—Ron’s son and daughter—and it was so wonderful to watch the four of them share in the fun of the day together. Once it was time to recite their vows, Irene and Ron gathered together with their guests at St John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church.

The couple’s ceremony was one of the most important parts of their day. Irene and her family are Greek, so it was important to her (and to them) that she and Ron get married at a Greek Orthodox church. St John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church fit the bill perfectly, and it was a beautiful natural-lit setting too!

Once they were officially married, Irene and Ron captured portraits inside the church with their family members before joining the rest of their guests for cocktails, dinner, and plenty of dancing at Le Meridien Tampa. Other than successfully getting married and celebrating with those they love most a few days after a massive weather event, another highlight of Irene and Ron’s wedding was their dessert bar by Alessi Bakery (their cake) and Hella’s (incredible Greek treats).

Irene and Ron, it was an absolute delight to capture your wedding day. I love the ways in which you honored your new blended family and celebrated your Greek roots! I cannot wait to see what you all do next.
