The Orlo Wedding | Kate & Joe
Joe and Kate’s wedding was our last one of 2018 and it was definitely one for the books! They love Christmas and wanted an elegant holiday styled wedding. Lindsay and Loren, their coordinators from Burlap to Lace totally made their dream a reality. They had a welcome cocktail hour as their guests arrived at the Orlo with Kiss Me Kate and Pal Joey Cocktails and Mocktails. The garland and greenery was all fresh pine and smelled so amazing. Their seating assignments were attached to custom burgandy and gold ornaments with each person’s name that was also a favor.
The girls got ready in the bridal suite while the guys were in the groom’s room. Their sweet dog Bonnie was right alongside Kate while she got ready and got to walk down the aisle with them! Kate’s bouquet was stunning with burgundy, thistles, roses and all different kinds of greenery. Joe and the guys were in cobalt blue with gold and burgundy bow ties.
Their ceremony backdrop was fresh pine trees with candles lining the aisle. I love how they draped it to make it a separate and intimate space for the vows. After they officially became Mr. & Mrs. Scalzo they walked down the aisle with Bonnie and we got them under the mistletoe and all the beautiful spots for photos.
The reception decor was stunning!! So many little intricate details that made it really special. Some of my favorite details is the pine sprig on each place setting and the cocktail napkins was their dog in gold leaf. Let’s talk cake and desserts for a second, their entire cake was frosted in chocolate! Joe also had a dessert table with all his families’ favorite desserts they love over the holidays.
Joe changed into a burgundy velvet jacket for the reception and they got to see it and soak in all the details before everyone entered. I think that’s such a tiny thing but so nice to be able to have the couple do. After their first dance, Joe joined the Buzzcats with a special song for Kate and then even sang acapella with 3 of his friends, it was amazing! There were cigars, and cappuccino, and an amazing time had by all. Thank you for having us be a part of your story Kate and Joe!
