Brittany & James

Brittany & James' story begins when they met in college at UCF.  Brittany told me they initially became friends out of their common love for Ralph Lauren:-) We did their engagement session at some of their favorite spots on campus, and Brittany's dad even got access to the football field!  There was a mural just inside the stadium that says "Commitment Starts Here", how perfect is that? They brought their fur baby, Brody, with them and my favorites are the ones of the 3 of them with his matching bow tie.  Looks like they could be straight out of a Ralph Lauren magazine!

{Nicole & David @ Westin Harbour Island}

Nicole and David are a fun-loving and energetic couple who's love and zest for life can be felt by anyone in their company!  They live in New York City, but decided to have their wedding in warm and sunny Tampa because David grew up here.  David a Nicole's closest friends and family traveled from all over to be part of the festivities!  We did a first look with them before the Ketubah signing, and David was absolutely stunned with how beautiful Nicole looked.  His reaction was the sweetest. The reception was beautiful and luxurious, mirroring the atmosphere of an upscale downtown club. From the white leather lounge chairs, to the crystals hanging from floor to ceiling, the room was gorgeous.  Cory, from Grant Hemond, had everyone on the dance floor the entire evening.  The love this couple has for one another is easy to see in the way they look at each other, David said that "Nicole is the best part of each day for him, his best friend and love."  They had a dream team of wedding "friendors" we got to work with that made everything as beautiful as it looks!  Congrats Nicole and David! xoxoxo

{Allison & Eric @The Lange Farm}

The theme of Allison and Eric's wedding was "Southern Elegance".  It was a mixture of vintage, rustic, and classic elements.  Allie wore a beautiful gathered gown with a beaded belt.  The girls wore pink knee length chiffon dresses with white and light pink bouquets.  Eric got the guys mason jar mugs with their names engraved on them and argyle socksJ Allie and her father arrived at the ceremony site in front of a beautiful big oak tree in an antique Bentley.  The Garden House was decorated with burlap, lace, mason jars, lanterns as table centerpieces, a typewriter, vintage suitcases and antique cameras as props on tables to capture the timeless feeling of their day.  To add a little “southern” to that elegance it was catered by Hungry Harry’s which is delicious BBQ!  Allie and Eric’s wedding was full of so many beautiful and fun moments ending with a bubble exit.  Congrats Allie and Eric!!! xoxox

Day 10 of 14 for 14: Sexy - Timing and Seasons for Getting Married

Style: Sexy - A Hayley Paige stretch satin and organza fit-to-flare bridal gown with an open back and tulle detailing connected by a jeweled brooch and accessorized with a chandellier earring.

Tip - Timing and Seasons for Getting Married

In Florida we actually have 2 wedding seasons.  March – June and end of September – beginning of December is when the weather is usually the nicest.  If you are planning your wedding in these months plan early because they are the busiest! The earlier you plan, the more likely the wedding professionals you want will be available.  For an outdoor ceremony, we recommend starting the ceremony 1.5 hours at minimum before sunset.   Usually outdoor ceremonies start 10 minutes late and are about 15-20 minutes long.  This allows for the cocktail hour to be that hour before sunset, which is the best lighting for pictures.  Especially if it is a wedding on the beach or waterfront, that 10 minutes before and 10 minutes after sunset is that beautiful glowing light we love:-)  In the fall, the first Saturday in November is daylight savings so after that the sun sets about 5:30pm.  In the spring, the first Saturday in March is daylight savings so after that, the sun sets about 7:30pm.  We always develop a timeline with our couples to make sure we are maximizing their time and getting the best lighting for your wedding!  If your ceremony is earlier or sunset is later like 8:30 ish, we plan it so that we can go our during the reception and still get the beautiful lighting!

Day 9 of 14 for 14: Gatsby - Wedding Day Hair Tips

Style - Gatsby: A Modern Trousseau italian sequined and silk crepe wedding gown fashioned into a 1920's style with a scoop neckline and delicate straps accessorized with swarovski crystal headpiece and matching bracelet.

Tip: Wedding Day Hair!
Guest Blogger: Michelle Stall - Aquali Bridal

Show and tell.  On the day of your hair trial, bring anything you think will help your stylist understand the looks you love or the style of your wedding. Have a friend take a photo of you in your dress at a fitting.  Bring pictures of brides, celebrities, models—anyone whose look inspires you.

Shampoo…not! Unless you are going to be wearing a loose blowout, make sure you wash your hair the night before the ceremony; slippery-clean locks have trouble holding a curl or staying put in an updo. A good dry shampoo can be a great purchase for those with greasy hair.

Go big or go home: Pageant hair is big for a reason—hair appears smaller in photography and when viewed from afar (i.e., from a back pew). Another reason to try for size: Your style will likely collapse a bit in height and width as the day wears on.

Extend yourself.  Don’t shy away from having hair extensions for your wedding day; it’s way less of a drama than it may sound. And no one needs to know—it can be our secret! Extensions are great if you want a little more length or fullness, or if you or your artist is worried about your hair holding a particular style all through your wedding day. Even if your own hair falls, the extensions won’t.

Accessorize.  There are so many great hair accessories available now to add a gorgeous accent to your wedding hair. It will depend on the look you’re going for. For a more classical look, you might want to wear a Swarovski crystal brooch. Jeweled barettes can be great. Some of our favorites at the moment are bird-cage veils, feathers, and flowers, which go beautifully with more flowing, playful gowns.

Be honest. If there is something you want to change about your hair, try to contact your stylist and let them know prior to the wedding day. This will help the stylist in planning so that everything runs smoothly the day of your wedding!

{Stephanie & Craig @Tampa Museum of Art}

Stephanie and Craig met at University of Tampa in math class. Craig actually proposed to her in the same classroom where they met!  Craig loved wedding gift from Stephanie.  She gave him a pocket watch engraved with his initials and on the inside was a photo of his grandfather who passed away.  Such a sweet and sentimental gift.  It rained for Stephanie and Craig’s engagement session and the entire morning of their wedding.  Thankfully, when it was time for the ceremony, the clouds parted and the sun actually came out!  The rest of the day was beautiful!  How appropriate that the backdrop for their ceremony was the University of Tampa, just across the river.  A single white rose was placed on a front row chair of the ceremony to honor all the family members that are no longer with them.  Gorgeous spring flowers alternating in tall and short vases decorated each table. The cream and light green colors looked so pretty! A long table for the bridal party sat in the middle of the dining area allowing guests to have a clear view of the bride and groom from wherever they sat. A YUMMY and GORGEOUS sweet treat table was teasing everyone as they walked to their tables! It was very hard to not grab one on the way by! It had chocolate covered strawberries, glittery cake pops, raspberry pastries, macaroons, and of course the cake!There was a basket was placed on the dance floor with all sizes of flip flops that was labeled "Dancing Shoes". The guests definitely needed these because DJ Papi kept this party on the dance floor!  Stephanie and Craig ended their perfect evening with a sparkler send off on the water!  Congrats Stephanie and Craig!! xoxoxo

Day 8 of 14 for 14: Vintage - How to Choose Bridesmaid Dresses

Style: Rustic - A Tara Keely modified ball gown with mikado trumpet skirt underlay, illusion V-neckline accented with venise lace, and a harsehair hem. Accessorized with a champagne ribbon at the waist and sparkly bown cowgirl boots.

Choosing the right look for your bridesmaids can be almost as stressful as finding your wedding gown! Remember to always be a good friend, and that one size does not fit all. Make sure to search for a style that flatters all the different body types in your bridal party so everyone feels comfortable and ready to help you on your big day. A trend we love is the bride choosing a designer and fabric, and then letting her maids pick the dress they like best. If you order them all at once, they will be cut from the same dye lot and match perfectly while letting each girl put her own style into her bridesmaid look! This is usually a surefire way to make sure everyone is happy while still looking well put together.

5 Year Anniversary and Surprise Unveiling

I always love throwing fab parties!  Our 5 year anniversary and introducing a new venture was the perfect reason!  I wanted the theme to be mystery and elegance because of the surprise we would be unveiling and I love all things pretty:-)  We are so fortunate to work with the best in the industry here in the Tampa Bay area and I can not thank everyone involved enough for their hard work and amazingness on this event.  Everyone listed below are not only talented in what they do but also some of the best people both in character and friendship that I know. Jenny and Anthony Sanschagrin from 1930 Grande, Linda Somersall from Linda Marie Weddings, and Jana Stall from Events in Bloom are all to thank for making my small vision a gorgeous reality.  They know me so well and I can not thank them enough for seriously how perfect everything was!

Florals and linens were white with lots of crystals, textured aqua linens, and Jana even incorporated votives with a chevron pattern.  uDream Events did our aqua glow bars for the sushi station and mobile bar.  FH weddings black and white chic furniture created a perfect lounge space.  The food and red velvet signature Lovetini were over the top delicious.  RJ, from the Production Crew took care of the sound, visuals, stage and one of my favorite things was the live twitter feed we had.  I LOVE social media so everyone's tweets and pictures were projected on the walls.  Monique, from Shutterbooth brought Open Booth and also another super cool thing.  At the event you could put #carriewildes on instagram and your photos would print out at the Glam Station.

Everyone that knows me knows I love wedding cake, and we had a Cake Boss Style unveil in the center of the room with a sequin and chevron encrusted decadent red velvet creation by Alla and Boris from The Cake Zone.  The perfect addition to cake is delicious Gelato from the best, the Gelato Carte.  The girls from Aquali Bridal matched the cocktail models hair/makeup exactly with the florals and decor.  With the theme being mysterious, we had Nathan Coe Marsh perform some of his illusions that I think we are still trying to figure out!  Cory, from Grant Hemond was our MC and DJ extraordinaire.  All the stationery from invitations to menus and tent cards were done by Invitation Galleria also incorporating a little chevron.  My husband, David, even surprised me with a very sweet speech and a dozen roses!

The thing I was most excited about was our surprise unveiling.  It was something no one would ever guess and we did a pretty good job keeping it a secret:-)  Many of you know that David and I are foster parents, and we had a pretty tough year in 2013 with a sweet little baby we had for 6 months.  The short version of the is, together, Holly Nazario and I came up with the idea to start a foundation to start breaking down the financial barriers so that more people can adopt and give so many children that need it a forever family.  The foundation is named after our foster baby, Promise Love.  We hope to help people get the most important gift that can be given family.  It's in the beginning stages but are VERY excited to see where God takes this.  I can not thank Alex and Jocelyn from Voila Cinematic enough for the time and work they put into this video below.
