Sorosis Building Wedding Lakeland, FL | Megan + Parker Wed at Historic Venue
One of the things that we take as a huge compliment is when another vendor in the industry recommends us for an event for their family or friends. When Two Sisters Events & Design told one of their dear family friends to give us a call, we knew it was going to be a very special wedding. Megan + Parker held their wedding at the Junior League Sorosis Building on Lake Morton in Lakeland, FL. The historic Italian Renaissance style building built in 1927 embraces the look so popular at the time, but was then a novelty in Lakeland. The grand architecture was a big decor feature in the Two Sisters’ design. A stunning floral arrangement adorned the main fireplace and the tables with their gold chargers had an Old World feel to them.
Megan said one of her favorite details of their wedding was her custom designed dress from The Southern Swan. She looked so regal in the full sleeves and cascading train. Megan’s family has passed a dime down through generations to wear in your shoe for good luck on your wedding day. Its time worn patina and handwritten note was one of our favorite details of the day.
The Junior League Sorosis Building has a beautiful ceremony set up, using their front lawn and the view of Lake Morton across the road as the backdrop of the couple saying their “I do’s”.
These flowers added to the top of the gate and hanging from it were so elegant! Megan + Parker’s sand ceremony was so touching and spoke to their faith and to their devotion to each other. Don’t miss the banyan trees along the shore of Lake Morton. They are a perfect backdrop to bridal party portraits!

The clear flutes the floral arrangements were placed on were so delicate! The food, catered by Arthur’s Catering & Events had our mouths watering!
Believe it or not the last 20 min of a wedding reception can be stressful for those staffing the wedding. The event is wrapping up, the DJ is winding down the music, and the planner is organizing guests to go outside and line up for your exit. Two Sisters are pros! With the help of DJ Grainger Entertainment Megan + Parker had their private last dance while Two Sisters distributed the sparklers that had the genius addition of individual match books attached to them to speed up the process! The happy couple never see these behind-the-scene movements. All they see is a lovely end to the night and their guests all wishing them well. Which is EXACTLY what it should be when you hire pros! Congrats you two!
