It's wedding season!!! I'm super excited for all the amazing weddings we get to capture this fall!!! We have added some amazing talent to our team and I've finally gotten our team section and all our galleries updated with our latest work!! So definitely check out our new team section here and be sure to check out the galleries as well you might just recognize some some of our favs:-) From left to right Carla is our crazy fun new studio manager. Kandice is in the middle, and that's Haley on the right. These two both gorgeous and talented ladies are our new associate photographers that are all set and ready to go! Happy Friday!!!
Constantly raising the bar and becoming the best at what we do is super important to me! Every few months as a team we are working on lighting, directing, posing, motion, and building our creativity. I love having a team that is so talented, we all have different strengths and learn so much from each other. This one we did in Ybor and really focused on off camera lighting, shadows, and architecture. Here's some of my favorites! Thanks to Erin and Clinton for being our fabulous models:-)
Our website got a little bit of tlc:-) We didn't totally change it, but just updated all our galleries with our favorite work, new info and some things to make it easier to navigate and more user friendly. Check it out at www.carriewildes.com
Wow, I can't believe we were featured in Professional Photographers Magazine in both February and March!!! It's so amazing to think about how far we have come and what we've been able to accomplish with support from my wonderful husband, family, friends and the great wedding professionals in Tampa!! We're going to keep raising the bar as high as we possibly can!
We truly have the best job in the world! To us there is nothing better than capturing the true beauty and candid moments that you couldn’t plan if you tried. These are the moments that are special enough to have forever. We are so glad that you found us!
Our studio is based in Tampa, Florida and so far we have traveled throughout Florida, the US, and Caribbean. In 2009 and 2010 we had the privilege of working with both the WeTv and MTV networks on Tampa weddings that were cast in reality wedding shows. We have blossomed into 3 teams of photographers, a creative artist, and a studio manager so we can each focus on what we do best which is creating artful and compelling images.
Meet Catalina. She is the newest addition to our team and also an associate photographer. She was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia and moved to the US when she was 21 to finish her bachelors at the University of South Florida. Photography is most creative outlet. Catalina is happily married, and has a beautiful daughter, named Sophia. She spent 2 years of intense acting training at an academy in Columbia owned by an Argentinean professor doing everything from acting to scrubbing the floors! She speaks English and Spanish, loves reading, movies, and dancing.
Meet Zaida. She goes by Z and is also one of our associate photographers. Years ago she was a preppy hair bow wearing Florida State co-ed who morphed into marketing career girl, who took a detour into copywriting. In 2005 she took a black and white photography class and was hooked. Z is a portrait photographer and loves weddings because of the romance and the wedding cake of course! She is a flip flop wearer, cup cake connoisseur, and could happily live in an Anthropologie store.
Meet Michael. He is one of our associate photographers and will be working to develop that second perspective on your wedding day. He was born and raised in Bradenton, Florida and Graduated from USF in Business Management. He started out shooting sports and car shows. Michael has a great eye for capturing the moment and telling a story which is why he loves photography. Michael definitely likes to be random and knows lots of useless facts and stories. He loves to eat, cars, and flying.
Meet Linda. She is a new addition to our team as a lead wedding photographer. For as long as she can remember she has had a passion for both taking pictures and looking at other photographers work. In 2004 she took some photography classes and began working and learning with other talented photographers. She is always observing, anticipating, and capturing natural unscripted moments. Linda grew up in Minnesota and Oregon and currently resides in Bradenton, FL with her little Chihuahua named Bubbles. She loves traveling, live music, and dogs and horses.
Clay is our artistic designer who re-touches all our work and creates everything from our album designs to the look of our website. We are very blessed to have him on staff because people don't usually realize it but, the bulk of the work comes after the wedding in the editing and design process. Since we have 3 teams, this is very important so our workflow and style is consistent whether Sylense, Linda, or myself is the lead photographer. It also allows for us to focus on the actual photography and client experience while having quick turnaround times, around 4-6 weeks, so you don't have to wait months to see your pictures and album design.
Clay is from Texas, but resides in Columbus, Ohio with his wife Whitney and dog named Tamale. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University with degree in design. When Clay is not behind is 30" monitor you can usually find him running with Tamale. He can juggle 3 oranges while skateboarding, and his favorite food is milk and cookies.

She started second shooting with me in 2008 and has become such a great artist and fabulous photographer to work with! She is now one of our main lead wedding photographers and my right hand girl!
Her name is very unique, and yes it's pronounced like “shhhh”. Here's the story: her parents were driving down the street before she was born trying to come up with a name and her mom got annoyed with her dad and said “silence”, it stuck but with a cooler spelling:-) Capturing the beauty and creating art is her joy & passion. Her previous aspirations were to become a photographer for national geographic, but after shooting weddings she was hooked! It is such a perfect fit with her personality and love for life. Sylense grew up in Tampa and loves Mexican food and running along Bayshore Boulevard.

2011 is going to be our best year yet and we are taking it up several more notches! We have some great new additions to our team so I want to introduce them and re-introduce you to our current team. Every day this week I'll be posting a bio of one of our team members and then the beginning of next week I'll be releasing our website with a nice little facelift:-) So, I'll start with me.........
You can find me dodging traffic, leaning off ledges, and sometimes even braving the snow all to get the money shot. I didn’t realize the gift I had until going on a mission trip to the Philippines and falling in love with photography. In 2007 my husband David and I, left the frozen tundra of Chicago to start a new and warmer life in Tampa, Florida. I decided to get off the corporate ladder and build one my own. I've has traveled to every state except Alaska and Oklahoma and every continent except Antarctica and Australia (which will be checked off soon:-). I graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Industrial Engineering, is a scuba diver, doesn’t eat beef, and is a social media diva.

I am very excited that we are featured in the February issue of Professional Photographers of America (PPA Magazine)!! PPA is the world’s largest nonprofit association for professional photographers, with more than 20,000 members in 54 countries so it's such an honor to be recognized by this organization. They have been an amazing resource for my company both in the art and business of photography. I've traveled all over the world to a lot of different countries and the US is really the place where if you have a dream and look for the right resources to help you get there you really can do anything! It's always a work in progress but I hope this can be some encouragement for you who are striving towards something big or have a dream to go for it!
We hope you have a holiday season full of peace, joy & Love!
Merry Christmas from the Team at Carrie Wildes Photography!
It's official! We moved into a new studio space this summer that we share with the always fabulous floral designer, Jana from Events in Bloom. To celebrate, and show everyone what it looks like we, had what turned out to be a not so little shindig:-) I want to personally thank everyone who came out to support us, wedding professionals, family, and friends. It is such a privilege to know and work with such amazing people that have believed in us. I can't believe it's been 3 years since we moved from Chicago to Florida. We've grown to 2 photographer teams, with myself and Sylense as lead photographers, Erin and Michael as associate photographers, Tennille is our studio manager, and Clay is our creative designer. There's so much more to come for 2010, I can't wait!!!!
Everyone involved went above and beyond our expectations to help us make it a success. Super special thank you to Events in Bloom, Catering by Design, Udream Events, Grant Hemond, Chic Sweets, Paper Presence, My Event Design, and Custom Linens. Events in Bloom showcased some very unique designs, yes there are calla lillies hanging from the ceiling. The look began with invitations from Paper Presence incorporating both of our colors and logos. UDream Events created 2 signature drinks, mine was the blue "Berry Wild" and Jana's the green "Twisted Tulip". Passed h'ordeuvres included my favorites, spicy chicken salad wontons, shrimp spoons, cheese and caper bruschetta, mini smores, and key lime dessert shots. Catering by Design totally out-did themselves! Um, the sweets table, to die for. If you know me and my sweet tooth it was not a good situation:-) Chic Sweets incorporated our colors and even my photography into the table scape. Chocolate dipped marshmallows and oreos, cake pops in mini ice cream cones (again my favorite:-), gumballs, and 7-Up jelly beans need I say more? Cory, from Grant Hemond topped of the ambiance with music for the evening. Thanks again everyone you truly made it a wonderful evening!!!
This isn't a foto but it's exciting and creative so I have to share. Last year we bought a piece of property and have been working with our architect on designing our home over the past 8 months or so. It's finally done!!! Not only is it going to be the Wildes home, but will also have a separate gallery, office, and meeting space for Carrie Wildes Photography Art & Design. We are VERY excited about this huge undertaking and blessed to even have the option of building a home! It's a mix of Key West and Bungalow style, the area on the front left of the house labeled "display area" is the my new workspace. Lots more to come on this.

We are so excited that our new Blogsite is here! A website that is a blog and blog that is a website. The best of both worlds in one. We really wanted something very custom and just plain user friendly. Since we are addicted to social media you will see you can very easily find us on facebook, twitter, and we are going to be much more interactive on our blog as well. Coming soon we'll be starting Y Not? Givaways, Foto Friday's and much more. Just for the fun of it! Let us know what you think!!!
