This was the 2nd year we had the honor of photographing the Children’s Home Society of Florida Inspire Gala at the Bryan Glazer JCC. This years theme was Mardi Gras complete with all things mardi gras, king cake, and masks that the kids that live at Joshua House hand painted. Hosted by Michael Clayton, former Bucs pro football player. I love this event because it raises a lot of money for the most vulnerable children in Tampa which are those who are in the foster system. Hundreds of people came out to not only give and support but to mingle, have fun, and dance the night away. The band 22N rocked this party!
Liz Kamali Events team celebrating their new website and brand with an amazing Havana Nights themed party at Isla Del Sol. Not only that, they used their party to give to support adoption and forever families through the Promise Love Foundation (which is also our passion:-). Congrats LKE team and all the fabulous friendors that we got to see and celebrate with!! It was amazing!!

Moms, you know how rare it is that you get to be in nice photos with your kids right? As photographers it's even more rare. For Mothers day this year, all I wanted was some photos of me and my two little cuties. Last minute, I decided to make it a little impromptu shoot with my photographers and their kids! We have to get Haley with her boys and Linda with her daughter later since they weren't able to come. It was a little rowdy mainly due to my 2, and so fun having everyone here. Miriam is from Mexico, and her mom was in town so we got to get their 3 generations together. Miriam's loud and infections laugh is contagious (and hereditary:-) I especially love those ones of her and her mom laughing because it's just so them. She has two kids, Regina who is almost 3 and Leo who is 6. Kandice has 2 boys, Jackson who is 10, and Mason who is 7. They love their mom so much and are just the sweetest boys. They are past the threenager rowdy age, so their session was the easiest. There's a few of the bribery with suckers and lip gloss at the end. I just love these moments and I think we'll have to make this an annual event.
When I arrived to start getting ready photos with the girls they were lounging in Lularoes and listening to country music while Ashley was getting the finishing touches of her hair and makeup done. Ashley had super fun custom name swirly straws for their champagne toast. She had the sweetest gift for her mom, it was a jewelry box that said "mom, you were my first friend". Before we knew it, was time to get Ashley in that stunning lace and crystal gown. The girls were in different hues of gray, blue, and seafoam green and those bouquets full of greenery, white roses, and blue florals looked amazing. Wayne and the groomsmen were a blast and super pumped about doing photos everywhere. Especially since they each got to drive their own golf cart around:-) Ashley made her way down the stairwell to see Wayne for their first look and he could barely contain his excitement, it's literally the picture of what ecstatic looks like. Wayne was keeping an eye on the radar as the Florida rainy season has gotten off to a crazy start. Thankfully it held off so we could take the golf carts over by the Pinellas Bayway bridge, they made that bridge look amazing. The ceremony was inside the tall atrium because the wind and weather just wasn't cooperating. Thankfully, for the rehearsal Wayne got to do his jet ski ceremony entrance and they have it on video, I saw it on Facebook. Rev Rick married them in the tall glass atrium and they exited through a tunnel of bubbles. Their reception style was gold, with lots of greenery white peonies, lanterns, and candles. Instead of a sit down dinner they had 3 different timeframes of passed hors d'oeuvres, a mashed potato bar, and that fabulous dessert table. After they danced and toasted the dance floor was packed. Let me tell you, Wayne has got some moves and their was some serious break dancing going on! My favorite part of the night was the very last song, the guests formed a circle and Ashley and Wayne hugged and high fived their way out. It was am amazing day to #forsuretobeaverschuere congrats you guys!! xoxo

We are so excited that Katelyn & Brandon's beautiful Florida Aquarium wedding is featured on Borrowed and Blue's wedding blog and it's Katelyn's birthday today!! Happy Birthday pretty lady!! Katelyn's gown is one of our favorites the lace detail and backing was just stunning. Click below to see the whole feature on their blog!
Denise got her girls the cutest shirts that said "Bride Tribe" in gold. Denise's dad helped us while we were doing detail shots of her wedding dress, boots, and jewelry you can tell how much he just adores her. She wore boots under her dress and her socks had bacon on them!:-) Bryan and the guys arrived all dapper in their derby hats and beige pants and suspenders. Denise and Bryan's son, Hayden, was so stinking cute in his mini suit and bow tie! Denise did a first look with her dad, even I was a misty eyed while she gave him an embroidered handkerchief with a super sweet message on it. She also had a special gift for Bryan’s mom. As the ceremony stared on the back lawn, under the Joshua tree, the weather could not have been any more perfect. Hayden was a little shy coming down the aisle, but there was a huge "AWE" from the crowd as they read his sign, "Here comes Mommy"! As Denise and her Dad made their way toward Bryan you could tell he was holding back the tears. After a sweet ceremony by Rev. Rick, the coupled sealed their tear-filled vows with a kiss. The sun was setting behind the trees and the paddocks and made for some gorgeous lighting during photos. The reception was held outside the blue barn under the strands of twinkling lights. The color scheme of blush and champagne looked gorgeous.. Inside the barn they had a wooden shelf that held cute little mason jars filled with different flavors of moonshine for the favor, it was a very popular shelf! The Newlyweds shared a sweet first dance, Denise had a tear filled father/daughter dance, and for the mother/son dance…Bryan and his mom shared the dance floor with Denise and Hayden. Some of the guys snuck away to play cornhole on the custom Penn State boards Denise had made for Bryan as his wedding gift. They even lit up! We took them out for a few nighttime photos before the said their goodbyes and exited under a tunnel of bubbles into antique car. Congrats you guys, it was a pleasure spending the day with you! xoxo

There is so much we could say about Alexis and Jason’s wedding, it was so beautiful and full of sweet and emotional moments. Alexis wore a strapless, lace gown with a beaded crystal strap across the back. She gave her dad, and step mom embroidered handkerchiefs with the sweetest letter to each of them. The letters and gifts Alexis and Jason gave each other brought both of them to tears! Their first look was on the right in front of the big oak tree, these few minutes of love, tears, and joy are some of our favorites! It was that super super windy day so the ceremony was moved to being under the covered front terrace. It gave Alexis this beautiful long aisle to walk down and meet Jason. The reception was in the grand ballroom, and was absolutely breathtaking! It was decorated in all white and silver and looked so incredibly classy. Their first dance, the father daughter, and mother son dance left us all without a dry eye. There was some serious salsa dancing, hip shaking, and even breakdancing going on. When Alexis tossed the bouquet, it ended up in on top of the draping not once, but twice which left everyone laughing hysterically. We stole them away for some night time photos. With the rain that had come and gone, the asphalt had puddles of rain that were beautiful and reflective with the streetlight. Congrats Alexis and Jason, thank you for having us capture it! xoxoxo

Lu wore 3 gorgeous gowns on her wedding day. For the ceremony, she wore a lace sleeved gown with a long train and chapel length veil, with red platform sneakers underneath! Alex was in a black tux with a white jacket and bowtie, so handsome! He had pure joy on his face as he saw Lu being escorted down the aisle by her brother. They had the perfect December day for their outdoor ceremony and reception at Cross Creek Ranch. The patio was draped in lights with gold, pink, and wine accents. They included subtle hints of 2 of their favorite things, a little spider man was peeking out from under the cake and their M&M had their photos as kids and a Darth Vader! Lu changed into a lace party dress for the reception that was totally for dancing. Later in the evening they snuck out and Lu changed into her 3rd outfit for a fabulous surprise Tango! So many amazing moments, thank you Lu and Alex for having us be a part of it!!

Kim & Matt’s crimson and ivory elegant wedding style was gorgeous! Kim wore the most fabulous custom made sparkly Converse sneakers bedazzled with their wedding date and a little bride charm. In her layered pearl necklace was a single strand of her grandmother’s pearls. Her flower girls loved twirling and looking at how beautiful Aunt Kim looked. Their ceremony was at the bottom of the grand staircase behind the Regent. Matt's nephew, Silas, was their ring bearer and so excited to be in the wedding. Just before he turned the corner to walk down the aisle, he coyly looked at the crowd and played with his boutonniere, I think he knew he was stealing the show! Kim looked stunning as she was escorted by her dad, down the staircase to meet Matt at the end of the aisle. After their vows, they sealed it with a sweet kiss, which Matt jokingly wiped off and Kim proceeded to use her tissue to wipe the red lipstick off his face. Matt loves popcorn (you might remember that from their engagement session) so they of course had a popcorn bar during the cocktail hour. The reception was draped in white with crimson accents and twinkle lights. They had mini BBQ sauces at each place setting that said “Love is Spicy” and “Love is Sweet” to go with dinner from their favorite BBQ place, Hungry Harry’s. Their cake had a sparkly topper surrounded by all different flavors of mini donuts. The reception was so much fun and before we knew it, it was time for their grand exit! Congrats Matt & Kim!! xoxoxo

Angell and Jared are going to be a party of 3 very soon! Angell's due date is actually 1.1.17!! We were so happy to get to photograph this next life event for them. They are having a girl and Angell's pink flowy dress and matching nail polish looked so pretty! The sunset was even pink that night! They told me when they first started dating, they had tried to see a few sunsets on the beach and it was always cloudy so I think this one made up for it! Congrats you guys, can't wait to meet your little bundle!!
Ashley and Wayne are know for throwing fabulous parties and tailgates so they incorporated some of their favorite things into their engagement session! They even had a 30 team corn hole tournament themed around their favorite college football teams for their engagement party (Alabama for Ashley and FSU for Wayne:-) So, we played a little corn hole and had so much fun with them at Phillipe Park. We can't wait until 6.10.17 when they officially tie the knot!!
A parent’s worst fear in knowing something is wrong with their child and then finding out the diagnosis is that "something" is cancer. This is the nightmare that Alisha and Jeremy have walked through for the past 3 years. Their sweet boy, Zeke, was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was just 3 years old. He has been a patient at All Children's Hospital during this time. They have an amazing staff that truly cares and grows close to their patients. Alisha and Jeremy's whole family came out to celebrate Zeke's, last chemo treatment. I was blessed with the opportunity to be there to photograph this monumental day. There really aren't words to describe the feelings I had while witnessing this! It was a mix of joy and excitement, sadness and fear, all at the same time. As a mom of two boys, I was overcome with emotion as Alisha held her baby's hand as they accessed his port and took blood, hooked him up to the machine that pumped chemo into his little body for the last time. No parent wants to go through this but this family is such an example of strength and endurance. They all joined hands and prayed, giving thanks to God for His healing of their boy. I literally was brought to tears as I watched Zeke ring the bell in the hall! This bell signifies the kids' last treatment and remission of cancer. Then again, I got all teary eyed as Alisha and Zeke walked the hall, hand in hand, to thank and hug all the nurses for their amazing care. I absolutely love photographing weddings and all the joyous occasions we get to be a part of, but, his may go down as my all time favorite photo shoot ever. Thank you Palmer Family for allowing us to be a part of such a monumental and blessed day!! We also wanted to share from Alisha what this day meant in her words:
“To put into words from a mothers heart on the emotions and feeling of this day might be challenging but here it is. My son Zeke was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia on Sept 5, 2013, over 3 years I waited for this day, this day to say to my son "this is your last chemotherapy treatment". In the pediatric cancer world this conversation from one parent to a child is rarely had, I am beyond blessed to say "My son is done with chemotherapy treatments" because not all parents can say that. This is a chapter in my son’s life I pray to the Lord we never have to revisit again. But, from day one God's presence and peace was with me. I didn't know the out-come of this journey but I trusted the Lord through every hospital stay, fever, blood transfusion, platelet transfusion, chemo treatment in his port and every 3 months of chemotherapy in is spine and up to 12 pills at night I had to give him chemo, steroids, seeing specials from dermatologist, cardiologist and lung doctors, many hour of sleepless nights I knew the Lord was by my side. Zeke's joy from day 1 was amazing, he never complained, NEVER. I am beyond grateful for the nurses and doctors that made this journey as pleasant as possible. Faith is all I had for each day, to see life through a different light, to be thankful for everyday and not to worry about the small stuff. Every moment is a blessing and I am beyond grateful to have these still memories to remind me God is always faithful and It Is Finished.”
Erin & Matt's color palette was green, gray, gold, and blush with hints of Dr. Who and super heros:-) They used their favorite things to make their wedding details totally fun and personal. Erin got ready with all her girls and her mom's reaction to Erin in her gown is priceless. Matt and the guys were in gray with green ties and a little surprise under their shirts. They got married in the white chapel at the Dade City Garden Club with their Aunt Carole officiating. She even wore a Dr. Who scarf while performing the ceremony. Their reception style was "literary rustic" with book themed center pieces and both the bar and backdrop for the sweetheart table made of pallets. Their cake had a custom mini bride and groom and the cake cutter was actually Dr. Who sonic screwdrivers that lit up. The toasts were pretty fantastic and involved costumes and Erin's brother presented her with the ninja turtles sword he said she stole from him when he left for college. They danced and danced until it was time for sparklers out front!!! Congrats Erin & Matt!!! xoxox

Katelyn's lace gown was pure gorgeousness! Her adorable flower girl had a little mini version of her gown lace sleeves and everything! Brandon gave Katelyn the most amazing gift that brought everyone in the room (including me and the makeup artists:-) to tears. He had a walled made out of ostrich skin boots that had belonged to Katelyn's father who had passed away 5 years ago. It was such a thoughtful and priceless gift. He also gave her a rose gold watch with their wedding date inscribed on it. The sharks and fish watched as Katelyn and Brandon said their vows and placed letters in an engraved box to open on their first anniversary. Their coral and grey wedding style with was so pretty with the blue backdrop. The guys even had fishing lures as a part of their boutonnieres. Brandon works for the sheriff's department and his cufflinks were actually mini handcuffs! During their first dance the flower girl and ring bearer did decided it was time for their first dance too. It was a day full of such beautiful moments! Congrats Katelyn & Brandon!!! xoxox

Brianna and Jaime got married at the Florida Aquarium in the morning before it opened. It's got this quiet and peaceful feel to it before and guests are there and it's just us and the sea life. These 2 are just some of the sweetest people and love each other so much. Their flower girl had the rings in a huge oyster shell as they got married in front of the sharks, turtle, and rays. Congrats Brianna and Jaime!!! xoxoxo

I am in love with the color palette Rebecca picked for the bridesmaids dresses! They wore different shades of blue, light gray and mauve. Rebecca’s gown was simple but detailed with a crystal sash and sparkly platinum shoes. Danny and the guys wore navy suits with America flag socks. The lightning was so pretty coming through the trees where we took photos before the ceremony of the guys and girls. The ceremony was on the 10th hole of the golf course under the big oak tree lined with flower petals and wooden arch that Danny’s dad made. Danny anxiously awaited his bride and had the sweetest look when he say her dad escorting her down the aisle. The scene there for the the ceremony and photos is just stunning. The reception décor had an elegant ambiance with candles and tall crystal floral centerpieces. The table numbers were held by huge clothespins that were such a unique touch. To remember their loved ones who couldn’t be there, there was a memory table with a lantern burning. Rebecca and Danny are huge craft beer fans and had a bottle Coppertail (which is a local Tampa brewery) with a burlap ribbon tied to it holding a custom engraved bottle opened and thank you tag. The reception was full of fun and sweet words given by their maid of honor and best man. We got to sneek them out for a few photos at night which is always one of our favorite things to do! Congrats Rebecca & Danny!! xoxoxo
